“Cozy and trying hard”

A great place to see a little Americana or what Belfasters think is America.
Staff was so sweet that it made up for the 1/2 of the menu was@ unavailable.! =)

“Nice place for a pint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

My friend and I had about an hour to spare on a day trip to Belfast and ducked into this bar nearby to where our pick-up spot was, just beside City Hall. It was a weekday afternoon so it was a bit quiet; the atmosphere was slightly dark and but really cozy, and the oversized chairs were ridiculously comfortable. We were served our pints quickly and the server was very friendly. We didn't eat but the menu looked good. We met a really nice local guy too - very friendly. Overall I really enjoyed it.

“Best Christmas Function Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Went here for a Christmas night out and it was fantastic. I read a review about the lighting being too bright and couldn't believe it! it is the complete opposite if anything! The place was packed with people but the atmosphere was great and even with every table full the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There were over 20 of us and every person commented on how efficient the staff had been.

Our age group ranged from 20 to 60+ and keeping such a diverse group as happy as they did I can only congratulate the management and staff. I as well as most of the others will certainly be returning for the delicious food and competent staff and hopefully get another sneaky peek at the hot blonde manager.

Can we book now for next year??? :D

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

It was a good new years eve until they stopped serving beer after midnight Without anouncing it was just sprits and as we are not local we were not aware of this and when we asked we were told all bars do it, we have been in many bars/clubs around Belfast and this hasn't happened not every person can drink sprits so we will not be back.

“Money spinner”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

As part of a large group it is often difficult to find somewhere to dine in the run up to Christmas as many palettes can be difficult to satisfy unless there is turkey on the menu. This doesn't bother me as it was the option I selected (begrudgingly as it was the best described dish and when it is a requirement that you pre-order one month in advance you don't want to try and enquire as to the other options).

Then once the awkward upfront payments had been sorted and we seemingly adhered to the ridiculous dresscode the night arrived and automatically the tone was a bad one. We were greeted by a hostile doorman, were not even shown to our table, no waiting staff seemed to be around there was no wine list at the table. When the wine was ordered I was charged for the wrong one.

Out of nowhere the food began to arrive despite no one having confirmed our order. The service was swift and impersonal. I actually ended up with indigestion from the haste of it.

The room was carpetted and the furniture large and awkward to maneuver making it almost impossible to leave the table without falling over. The light fittings were largely vandalised too.

The overall atmosphere bizarre as 10 metres from the dining area is the dancefloor complete with a full DJ set and the room was very warm and uncomfortable to dine in.

For the money we paid there were certainly better options in the same price bracket; I doubt I would ever return to the venue for any purpose.
