I booked this apartments due to their excellent reviews and great prices. Also, because my only previous experience at a "serviced apartment", at AKA White House in Washington DC, was wonderful, and I decided to try again. Unluckily, what I found was very different from what I expected and everything was a great disappointment from the begining.
First: before departing, I met with Lorraine at 7 pm at the apartments front door, as our plane landed at Belfast at 5:30 pm. Once we were at the airport, I called her again to confirm that the plane had arrived on time and we were in our way to the apartments. However, nobody show up until 8:50, almost two hours late!! And during all this time, we had to wait with the luggage at the street, because each time we called her se told us that she was coming.
Finally, it was John and not her the one who appeared and the only good thing of our stay: a very pleasant man that apologized many times for the misunderstanding and that tried to do his best to please us. He showed us our apartment and even drove us in his car after that to have diner to one of his favourite restaurants, Villa Italia (not bad at all, by the way).
Unluckily, despite of John's friendliness, the apartment was a disaster. Even the entrance, which was messy, smelly and narrow, with bed bases puted into a pile in a corner and lots of cheap brochures and leaflets scattered into a table didn't cause a great impression.
About the apartment itself, what to say: as it can be seen in the pictures, the walls were dirty and in a desperate need of a coat of paint. The two bedrooms were exactly as the students dorms where I stayed at Georgetown and one of the beds sheets were not changed from previous guests. But the worst part was the bathroom: no toiletries, just a couple of very thin towels and a shabby and nasty toilet - just see the pics. Even the living room, that was by far the best part of the apartment, was starting to give signs of a total lack of mantainance, which was a real shame as it was nicely apointed.
Finally, during the two nights we stayed there our neighbours (university students) were celebrating huge parties until very late and we couldn't almost sleep due to the noise. The apartment was also at the street level and we could hear everything from the street.
To sum up: this were not 4 star apartments at all but noisy, dirty and badly mantained student dorms that almost ruined our visit to Belfast. I guess that previous reviewer collyNIreland and I were given the same apartment as we had the same experience, but I am not too special nor exigent and, despite of that, I can't understand all the excellent reviews of this place. Unless you want to party all night, go to a hotel, even if it is more expensive.
