“Best campsite in the Gower”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

We have stayed at this campsite many times over the years, as it's just over an hour's drive from Cardiff where we live. It's in a great location overlooking the ocean, and the wash blocks are exceptional for a campsite. I5 minutes walk down the path to a massive sandy beach, plus 3 Cliffs Bay is just along the cliff path. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value

Room Tip: the upper field has the best views across the sea

Easy to find, easy access, efficient check-in, friendly staff, amazing location & outlook with clear unobstructed sea views, great value, immaculate showers & loos, excellent security, shop / cafe on site and only 4 minute walk down to the sea through woodland fringe and tall dunes.

If you had to conjure an ideal campsite in your imagination you would be hard pressed to improve on this one.

Yes it can get busy and crowded but it still runs well under pressure. Ideally located for walking Cefn Bryn, Three Cliffs Bay, Oxwich Bay, Pennard Castle, Penmaen Woods. Easy drive to Rhossilli, Worms Head, Port Eynon and back to Swansea, Mumbles or to pubs like the King Arthur at Peynoldston etc. Popular with families.

We stayed here during the Easter Holidays this year (2014), our first stay and we will definitely be coming again. The facilities on site were excellent and extremely clean. The showers even though operated by 20p coins are hot, a good pressure and last a sufficient enough time to wash, wash your hair, condition it, rinse and still have time to enjoy the jets. There's also an excellent laundry room and boot room, with airing cupboards to dry both boots and clothes.
The family and their team are so friendly and helpful; making everyone feel welcome. Whilst we were there, they introduced their new Pizza facility in the farm shop and restaurant, and these were delicious. Our Motorhome engine battery failed us twice, and Tom had to rescue us at no charge, incredible. This is a working farm too.The walk to the beach and the views are fantastic, we will definitely come again, it was lovely to be on a dog friendly site too. We will definitely be back to stay and do some fruit picking later in year.

We camped here last weekend on an under 9's rugby tour. The weather was foul for most of the weekend but no matter the camp site staff were amazingly helpful and the cafe was an absolutely delicious godsend.

Once the weather improved we went to the beach (5 mins from tent) - it was absolutely stunning, miles of golden sand and not a person in sight. The kids loved it. I haven't been to the Gower before but will come back here.

We just had our first family stay at Nicholaston Farm and it was amazing. Firstly we made the fatal mistake of following the sat nav and got stuck and after one quick telephone call they kindly sent 2 fantastic men and a huge tractor to our rescue. The facilities on site was very well maintained and extremely clean and the views were breathtaking. We then took a walk to the beach and came across a huge rope swing, not sure who had more fun the kids or us! When we finally made it to the beach it was fantastic. Massive thank you to all at Nicholaston Farm for making our stay for welcoming xx

Really enjoyed our stay here in the lower field. The site was well kept and quiet. The bathrooms were great especially if you are accompanied by a young child - plenty of room for you both without getting your clothes wet. They were clean whenever we went in and we didn't have to queue. The walk back from the beach through the woods was a bit much for our six year old so we drove to the beach the second day. We had breakfast at the cafe before leaving - food and service was spot on. Would definitely go back.

Just brilliant! Second year we have visited with other families in a group. We camp. 'Pitch where you see a space,' suits us. Amazing views of the sea. Three fields: two for tents. Last year we were in the further field and slightly preferred this over the one closer to the cafe as you can cycle down and back to the shower/loo block. The closer field has a sleep uphill to it and call us lazy, we all found the schlep down to the loos on foot a bit of a pain. Lovely people, great shop and they do a tasty breakfast as well as stocking staples. Best loos/showers are in the caravan field but all loos are well cleaned and stocked with loo roll. Terrific showers. Walk to beach is worth it and necessary if you eat too much on holiday like we do! We will return next August!
