Weavers is a great place for afternoon tea. The sandwiches are freshly made on request. The decor is Art Deco and the atmosphere is unhurried. Great place to go for a good catch up where you want to spend a bit of time. Although if in a hurry and staff know this. Service can be fast in efficient.
You can opt for the traditional afternoon tea served on a vintage cakestand with sandwiches, scones and cakes with thick cream and jam and a pot of tea. Alternaitvely you can opt for something more simple if you are on your lunch break.
There are a range of teas availble if you want something a bit different.
The staff are attentive and prepared to provide a variation on the menu if you want something that is not quite on the menu.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it is almost there. The decor gives the feel of art deco and the crockery is vintage where appropriate. It just feels a bit budget. I am picky as I have afternoon tea at Harvey Nicks to compare it too. The price reflects this as prices are competitive and I will be going there again soon as the food is so good.
