Everyone will agree Swansea is not the prettiest city in the world so the creation of the Marina area was a stroke of genius on the council's part to add space and a lovely area to walk in in the city, for the residents and the visitors.
The Marina is a large open area around a large berthing area for small yachts and boats with many modern high rise flats around. It is perfect for a stroll, there being several cafes and restuarants along the marina sides to stop in, including a personal favourite pub the pumphouse. There is plently to see in this area and around; the beach is right next to the marina and easily accessible; the National Waterfront Musuem is a free museum next the berthing area; and the Swansea Tramshed is another free museum next door to the Waterfront and is part of Swansea Museum which is barely just a minute's walk away. Just a minute away is the LC Leisure Centre with a large indoor pool complete with several slides and a wave machine and barely three minutes away is the Dylan Thomas centre, dedicated to the life of the famous poet born in the city.
So with all this here there is enough to keep a family amused for at least an afternoon if not more.
