“Great beach, popular with families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We visited the beach on a Saturday and it was quite busy. The car park is £4 per car, regardless of how long you want to be there, but the car park is right by the beach and this is part of the reason the beach is so popular with families.
The majority of people stay on the end of the beach near the car park where there are watersports, a restaurant (pricey!), cafe, shop and toilets.
We went for a walk along the beach and were impressed with how clean the beach was (especially the further you went from the busy part) and the water was lovely too. There is a freshwater stream running into the sea part way along the beach, but it is very shallow and was fun to paddle through.
Dogs are allowed on the beach and this adds to its popularity too. However, this did mean that we came across a couple of piles of dog mess, though I couldn't mark the beach down for this as it was just the fault of a couple of inconsiderate visitors.
On the whole, a very lovely beach and well worth a visit.

“World class beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Miles of super clean sand, child friendly shallow waters, stunning scenery, perfect sand dunes, and hours of rock pooling potential; basically everything you could want on a family beach! I had never been to The Gower before and just loved all of it, from the drive through the wooded hills surrounding to the extremely well managed services. Everything you could want for a family beach day that doesn't involve fast food, amusement arcades and kiss me kwik hats! Go, you'll love it!

“Lovely cosy beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We walked here from Three Cliffs Bay along the beach so we were delighted to find a beautiful little beach cafe with tables and chairs in the sand at the top of the beach. Families were really enjoying themselves and there was a lovely atmosphere. It WAS a beautiful day.
They control the dumping of rubbish here and just have one large rubbish bin tucked away. This is great as it keeps the beach area really natural looking.

“Sand, sand, sand.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Seemingly miles of it, golden sand and blue seas, West Indies? Mali,? no South Wales a few miles from Swansea city centre.

Unspoiled, acres of parking space and long shore line walks. When the sun is shining not a better place in Europe and the drive to it is full of lovely scenery.

Walk along the beach to Three Cliffs and at low tide go through the natural rock arch into Three Cliffs bay, keep a close eye on the tide as it is a far longer walk back away from the shoreline.
Good food available at Oxwich Bay Hotel for those wanting a sand free meal, ever eaten on a beach without that gritty feeling?
All in all a truly beautiful stretch of shore.
