“A long haul for a little bay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Set between Caswell Bay and Pwll Ddu on the coastal path that links Mumbles to Southgate and Three Cliffs, this bay can also be approached from Bishopston or via Pwll Ddu.

There is no avoiding a long haul either way and when you arrive, this is one of the smallest but prettiest bays along the coast.

Sturdy walking gear is recommended and wheelchair or pushchair/buggy access is almost impossible close to the beach.

There are no facilities or utilities anywhere close - Caswell being the closest for cafe's, toilets and shops.

Nevertheless, this is a beautiful little gem of a bay.

“Find the Brandy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Brandy Cove is a bit difficult to get to, look on the map, park your car and walk. It is brilliant. The history of Brandy Cove is wonderful. The Bay is sandy but full of pebbles. The rumour is that the pirates hid their brandy in this cove to avoid tax. Have taken the footpath many times and never tire of the view. A bit of a walk, bet well worth it. There are no facilities on this Bay but well worth the visit.

“An absolute gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

I live less than half a mile from Brandy Cove. It gets its name from the smuggling that took place in the 18th/19th century. It is very small, particularly at high tide. When the tide is out it is idylic - sandy with rock pools to play in. Access is not easy - you have to park several hundred yards away and then walk down an unpaved road, then along a narrow, and sometimes muddy, footpath through a wood, and finally down a steep footpath to the beach. It is possible to do it with small children but you have to be fairly fit. There are absolutely no facilities there, so take food, drink, chairs etc.

“My secret”

I'm reluctant to tell anyone about brandy cove and the lovely walk down to it, as often you can get this beautiful little bay to yourself, so find it if you can !

“Just perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

A lovely small beach and quiet on most occasions. Take a picnic and spend the day. A 10 mins walk through the woods but well worth it.
