“Beautiful Cottage Near The Brecon Beacons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 for a stay in September 2012
person found this review helpful

We have just returned from a week at Glyn Cynwal Isaf Cottage which offers complete peace and quiet with superb views of the surrounding hills and countryside and is in a central location for visiting the Gower, Brecon Beacons, waterfalls and numerous castles. It is a beautiful cottage and comfortable, cosy and everything is immaculately clean. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 ensuite with shower and the bathroom has a jacuzzi bath. There is a very useful utility room for coats and muddy boots. For those who need to keep in touch there is wifi, mobile phone reception and Sky TV. We had cool evenings and mornings but the cottage heating was very effective and there is a woodburner in the lounge with a good supply of wood although we did not have the need to use it. With the cottage being up a fairly steep road and the evenings being dark earlier we decided to drive to some of the nearby pubs/restaurants which were using local produce. However, when you return to the cottage in the evening there is outside lighting to welcome you back. Should you choose to cook, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would need and a spotless oven.
There is an information basket in the cottage but Mali Craig, the owner, who lives in the farmhouse nearby, is readily available to offer advice on where to visit. In fact, we found Mali to be very friendly and helpful and was there when we arrived to welcome us and show us around her cottage and how things worked. We find we like this personal approach as far too often with rentals you are left to find things out through trial and error. We also have to comment that her welsh cakes are the best we have tasted.
Finally the cottage has an excellent informative Website for further information.
