I recently ate here with a friend. We had both heard good things about the restaurant so decided to give it a go. like others I found the decor to be dated, but this wasn't a real issue. We decided to order the mix platter to share, as well as two main dishes and an egg fried rice. I explained to the waiter that I was allergic to prawns (shell fish) and asked for these to be removed from the platter. He informed us that this was possible and that it was only a case of replacing the satay prawns and prawn toast, the ribs and vegetarian spring rolls would be fine. The platter arrived, the satay was delicious. However, on taking a large bite from the spring roll I discovered a large number of prawns. Needless to say I started to feel unwell. The waiter was not bothered by his mistake. By the time the mains arrived I was unable to eat much, but the sweet and sour chicken was chewy and Luke warm- certainly not fresh. As a result of the prawns I spent an evening feeling particularly unwell. The waiter either lacked sufficient English to fully understand my request (but I've travelled around China and has no issues!), or lacked sufficient knowledge of the menu. All in all a disappointing evening that was also over priced. I wont be returning.
