Upon first impressions? a little worn, But first impressions can be wrong.
We went there on a living social voucher, and i must admit we may aswell been paying double the price, as there service and hospitality was great.
attentive to the end.
started off as you do with popadoms and chutney tray. which were great, there was a comment on another post about the mango being watered down? it was more like an extra think mango sauce than a chutney? but then every indian ive ever been to has been the same? onion sald etc etc all great.
then came the starters, i had the mixed starter, and it was lovely sheek kebab was very tasty, chicken tikka was moist and tasty aswell. the wife had onion baji? they looked amazing, but were flavourless? i think some where along the line they had forgot the spice. we mentioned this to the waiter when he took the plates away.
Then came the mains, the wife had a tikka massala? something?? not your usual massala? and she loved it, said she was very impressed, i tried it and had to agree.
i had chicken razela? and it was mouth watering. keema rice was great chips were hot and the keema nan and perwari nan were both to die for.
manager came over and asked how it was?
I explain the only complaint was about the starters and everything else was excepetional.
he asked what was wrong and i explained about the baji's. he went away and came back a few minutes later and agreed with me and said he was sorry, and the cook was making up a fresh batch now and he would give us a portion to take home.
We then had ice cream for pudding and told him we wanted the pot to take home? he said fine, if you want it take it? great food, great service, great drinks, not over priced.
what more could you possibly want?
my answere????? NOTHING.
One more thing to add? the portion of baji's i took home were better? but still a little bland, but mixed with a little mint sauce the went down great and were ree aswell.
would i go again?
would i pay full price?
i'd rather not, but if i had to pay full price, at an indian restraunt in cardiff, i wouldnt mind here, as i know the quality of the food was exceptional.
Because for anyone who reads my reviews, you will know that i own a tastecard, so try to enjoy 50% of my food bill were ever i go.
Whic i just have in a restraunt just opposite this one. which my reviews on that will be printed shortly.
thanks for reading . hope this helps them get customers, and customers to get good food, and service.
