The park has one of Europe's leading collection of Azaleas and Rhododendrons and to add to this a vast selection of trees! So there will always be something to see on your visit. Add to this the birds but you will need a set of bino's as the tree canopy is so high. Having undertaken a recent, considerable conservation project, the park has actually changed in a way.Pathways and small structures have become revealed, just like a secret garden from a children story book and making things more accessible. However the mystic has gone in the process. The object was to cut away certain growth and clear away scrub, whilst recycling. One thing that hasn't changed though is certain dog owner not placing a lead on their dogs and instead letting them free run. There is a boot wash at the entrance (behind the gents toilets) which you might find handy and plenty of dog waste bins throughout and litter bins
