First impressions of the approach and the exterior of the hotel aren't great but the location meant that there was no noise from outside whatsoever and inside the hotel was immaculate. We were greeted pleasantly at check in and all the staff we encountered in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to have a room at the far end of the corridor so there was no noise from other guests but to be honest I don't think you'd have heard much if you had a room in the middle of the corridor as it all seemed very well sound proofed.
The room itself was spotless, typical Premier Inn room with the same decor and large Samsung tv on the wall so if you've stayed in a Premier Inn before you know what to expect from the room. The staff had everything ready for us when we arrived, both children's beds were set up and made as was the travel cot (we did take our own as we usually wouldn't use the hotels but we had no qualms about putting our daughter in this one), plus the curtains were pulled and a fan was running to keep the room as cool as they could. The only drawback with the room (and infact the entire hotel) was the heat in the room, it was cooler when we stayed -a rainy weekend with the outside temperature getting no higher than 19 degrees yet the room temp was never below 27. I dread to think what it would have been like in there the previous week when it was over 30 outside. If ever a hotel needs air con it's this one.
Many people have commented on the trek to the David Lloyd bar area for breakfast which initially seems a bit odd walking past the tennis courts and squash courts but lets face it, most Premier Inns you have quite a walk to get to and usually outside to a Brewers Fayre or Table Table. I know what I'd rather do at 7 on a cold, wet, winters morning! The staff in the bar weren't the best, one girl in particular was quite rude but it didn't detract from the hotel. The cooked breakfast you had to order which was hit and miss. One morning it came straight out and had obviously just been sitting under the hot lights in the kitchen and plated up as ordered. In this case I would rather it be self service because at least you can choose your own food, that mornings breakfast wasn't very nice. However the 2nd day the breakfasts were cooked to order and this time were nice and worth paying for.
We would definitely stay in this hotel again, Its in a good, central location and is certainly the quietest Premier Inn we've stayed in, if it wasn't for the heat would have got a 5 star rating for us.
