“Great restuarant and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

What a find, not too dear, and the service was great the chef even came to the table to explain his food, and the qualilty was great. Not too fussy a place but really good. Worth a look, and try the mango chessecake.

“Birthday Meal with Friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Went here for the sister in laws birthday, a bit cramped and we were squeezed in but food was really good and service was very good. Even got chatting to the owners over a drink at the end of the evening. Very good indeed and will not hesitate to go again but maybe not when they have christmas parties. Oh and nearly forgot the bruschetta with laverbread was fantastic.

“Dough balls followed by Rugby balls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We booked a table for four people to eat a good meal before witnessing England rugby's fiasco at the Millenium Stadium. We originally booked for 12:00 but were running late so the control freak in charge of our trip ( a very close friend) phoned the restaurant and asked to delay the table by an hour and a half. This was absolutely no problem.Good start.
On arrival we were pleasantly greeted and our jackets and coats were taken for storage. As soon as we were sat down, we were asked for a drink order and presented with the set menu for the day. A set menu was necessary due to the restaurant being fully booked because of the rugby. There was plenty of choice and between the four of us we mostly ordered different things for starters and mains. The food was perfectly good, not outstanding but good. What was outstanding however was the chocolate pudding. So on the whole, a perfectly decent restaurant with very pleasant and efficient staff. I also managed to sneek a look at the normal menu which was not available to us on that day; it looked very good and I would imagine that the food would be.

“Lovely Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Booked for Valentine's day because of the reviews on tripadvisor. Had never heard of Amici before but the reviews were great and it sounded like just the thing I was looking for (good food and service, non chain, something with a bit of atmosphere).
There was a Valentine's set menu which was fine by me, not a bad price for 3 courses but was a little bit disappointed that there was only one option for dessert. However, the starter and main were delicious and the dessert was just amazing. It was a warm marble chocolate cake in the shape of a heart with some tasty vanilla ice cream, passion fruit coulis and a strawberry, something that I probably wouldn't have chosen if there were other options because I don't tend to go for chocolate desserts but it was beautiful.
Good food, nice wine (I'm no pro but I liked it), good service and a lovely ambiance. Would definitely visit again, was even eyeing up the mother's day menu during the meal and it sounded just as tasty.

“Top quality Italian.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This is slightly off the beaten track in Churchill way but well worth a visit. Had a table of six to celebrate an anniversary. The service was great and we all agreed that the food was better than any other Italian in Cardiff. This is not a cheap restaurant but worth paying a premium price for quality food. The chef visited our table at the end of our meal to check that we were happy (we were) and gave us some complimentary Limoncella to round off a perfect evening. Highly recommended.
