“Nice hotel in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

First time I have stayed at this hotel. Overall it was very nice but I did feel the food was quite pricey for what you got and the breakfast was slightly disappointing due to the cooked food not being very hot when I arrived - BUT the room / bed / shower and staff were great! Will defo stay here again.

well located. Was our second stay at a park inn. Rooms in good order with the usual tea coffee making facilities free view Tv and Hair dryer. Staff at the resturant were much more welcoming than the hotel itself with the receptionist on duty a little moody with no smiles. Overall if staff attitude don't brother you, a good hotel!

Easy to find. Close to the park and ride. Stayed here for a concert at the motorpoint. Phoned reception who had no problem calling a taxi for us. It costs £9 roughly each way.

Room spacious, clean, toiletries provided, hairdryer. Beds very comfy. Pillows were amazing! Lots of plug sockets. Paid £35 for the night which was a bargain! Would definitely recommend staying here to visit the city. Sainsburys and fast food restaurants situated close by. Only niggle was a few of the light bulbs didn't work.

I stayed here for 2 nights in March using my loyalty points. They had an offer for half points neededed, so it was a really good deal.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Cardiff, close to the motorway. We had a car so distance wasn't an issue but it would be if you needed public transport. The local area isn't the nicest. There were plenty spaces on the car park even on a busy Saturday night.

Check in was very good, we were greeted with a smile and the service was very efficient.

The hotel looks very dated and really tired, but still functional. I'm sorry to say the corridors looked really drab and I wasn't expecting much from the room.

We had a nice, large room with king size bed. There was a lot of space to walk around, the room looked liked it was refurbished recently. There were 2 comfy chairs, a side table, kettle, tea and coffee.
The bathroom looked really new too, the taps and shower were shiny! There wasn't a bath in ours.
The room looked well cleaned, the following day we got fresh towels and shower gel, no problems in regards with housekeeping.

All in all, this was a good choice to redeem our points but I wouldn't pay too much to stay there.

This was a two day stay to attend a funeral in Cardiff. I booked via the internet and requested a room without stair access because my wife is disabled. However we were booked into a ground floor room which required access up a flight of stairs. They couldn't change the room for the first night although offered to change for the second. However we didn't want the disruption on the day of the funeral so put up with the inconvenience.

The room was a twin bedded with en-suite shower room and toilet. It was fitted out to a good standard with a large flat screen television, desk and two chairs and tea making facilities. A safe was provided but no instructions on use. Comfortable beds but no extra bedding available if you wanted a warmer duvet. The shower room had a drench shower which was very good. Towels were of a good standard. We had forgotten our toothbrushes but they gave us two at reception. Cleanliness was to a reasonable standard and they don't make your bed on the second day.

The room was heated by an individual air conditioning unit with a control panel you could adjust. However no instructions given on adjusting and it would be beneficial if they fixed instructions on the wall next to the controller. We didn't get the setting right so the unit would come on in the night to maintain the temperature and woke me up.

Breakfast was a buffet with a wide choice of food and the quality was good but I find with a cooked breakfast that the food trays do not keep the food warm enough and would like a microwave available to heat it up. There was plenty of staff on duty to clear tables, bring tea and coffee etc but they could have been more cheerful in their work.

Car parking was plentiful although you need to log your details onto the computer because it is a pay and display car park.

We paid £70 a night for the room and breakfast for two people booked through LateRooms.com. It seemed good value for the package although we would have liked them to provide our easily accessible room and not struggle with stairs.

Room Tip: Location is quiet so rooms on either side should be OK

I got a deal on travel republic for double room and breakfast and it well worth the money. Hotel is very clean and modern looking. Hotel staff and very friendly. The rooms are big and tidy. And have lovely modern bathrooms with walk in showers. My room did get cold out night but did have a lovely big duvet to keep me warm. The room also smelt smoky but I think they maybe because the people next door were smoking out there window and my window was open when I got my room. Its a good hotel to stay in if there are lots of you going on a night out. Taxi into to town was £8 and back was £10. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If there are a group of you ask for rooms next to each other. Rooms on higher floors towards back ar...
