This hotel is not dingy, dark or overbearing as the high ceilings, and neutrally decorated rooms makes this Victorian antique come alive! The staff are friendly and the rooms are meticulously cleaned and tidy. The common room makes for good reading and watching the activities of prominent cathedral road.

I stayed again this week

Honestly, I have done so much travelling and this is the best home from home ever. I had a four poster bed again. The breakfast was the best and made me LOVE wales! I really can't say enough. I'd like to make this place a secret but feel the business needs to be rewarded. I've stayed in five stars but this is better. It is the ideal small hotel in the best part of Cardiff and right new the park

They. And you feel so welcome and it is exceptionally clean and lovely

We enjoyed our stay here and the Lincoln House is a warm and spotlessly clean place to stay with a very good cold breakfast buffet and well-cooked hot food. The location is a 20-30 minute walk out of the city centre, but it's a pleasant walk through the park, or down Cathedral Road. There are a few places to eat nearby, but you'll get much more choice in the city centre.

Although happy with the room we were allocated (twin room with single beds), it wasn't the king sized twin that we booked via the hotel website. When we raised this on arrival, the receptionist first of all denied there was an issue, but then later phoned our room and accepted there'd been a mistake and confirmed that we'd pay the lower rate for the room we were actually in.

This would have closed the matter, but the owner raised the issue again later. He did apologise, but then rather clumsily compared the rate for our room with one he'd recently occupied in London for £150 a night - a pointless comparison, given Cardiff is a totally different city!

Having read the reviews we booked for two nights and were not disappointed. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the front of the hotel. It was a lovely room decorated and furnished well. The bathroom only had a shower but that was adequate for us. Bed very comfortable but the room was hot.

The Lincoln has a great feel about it. Lovely lounge and bar area. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Despite being fully booked the service from the staff was excellent.

It is situated about a 20 min walk from the city centre. You can walk through Sophia and Bute Gardens which run along the river and well worth it.

We recommend the Cricketers pub which is a short walk down Cathedral Road towards the city. Lovely food and a great atmosphere.

Overall a great stay.

It's classified as a three star B&B so I wasn't expecting much.......so an amazing surprise when it turned out to be the most perfect place! Elegant. Tidy. Immaculate. Great service. Delicious breakfast. Four poster bed and oil paintings in my room!!! It's right in the middle of town and best part of Cardiif and on a park. The owners are terrific

I almost don't want to let you know about this gem--- just don't take my bedroom!

Stayed here for the rugby so prices higher than normal. Had a four poster room which was huge, and well appointed with a beautiful bay window overlooking Cathedral Road but still very quiet. Decor throughout the hotel is Laura Ashley. Room was overly hot as we could not get radiator to turn off. Its a bonus that hotel has its own car park and its a 15-20 min walk into the city centre so you can escape Cardiff parking charges. Breakfast had everything you could want from fresh fruit and cereals, welsh cakes to full welsh or smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Only downside was the coffee, which wasn't very pleasant at all. Sachets of Nescafe in the room, so take your own if you prefer better quality coffee. Staff were particularly friendly and welcoming. We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Even though the hotel was full and we had a room facing the main road we heard no noise at all.
