“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

When friends visit, a general day out or just somewhere to go for a lovely walk and afternoon tea...St Fagans is it! In an age where Alton Tower type attractions are king, this is a wonderful alternative. Wander around the houses and discover a real sense of history..each building has a guide (normally warming themselves by a crackling log fire) who are all bi-lingual and will happily chat about the history of the place. There are working buildings too...bakery, woollen mill, celtic huts and the Gwalia Tea rooms. Outstanding place, constantly working to update the "collection" and on top of this...it's FREE! I'm very proud that this place is on my doorstep.

“Wonderful Day Out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

I've never visited St.Fagans before and have lived in Cardiff for a number of years. I have to say I was very impressed with it. The only downside was that a lot of the galleries, and attractions were closed. The sights are amazing, and it is a lovely walk round.
Cant really beat a free day out can you? If this was in England it would have easily cost £15 per head!
Keep up the good work and I cant wait to see what comes to St.Fagans next!

“Great way to spend the day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This is a great way to spend an entire day. We were very lucky to have sunshine.

Each building is a treasure. I especially enjoyed the fact that many of the buildings had wooden fires burning, and many of the buildings had active artisans working (e.g. a blacksmith working in the blacksmiths). There is a very cute tea room in the middle of the site, and also a small amusement section with kiddie rides as well as toffee apples - yum.

The whole experience was educational and interactive. Even my boyfriend (who has an aversion to museums) found this to be delightful.

The "castle" and gardens were also very well kept and beautiful. The only thing I would tweak is to have more information cards available in the castle so more than one person can learn about the exhibition.

“Fascinating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Great to see important buildings preserved in one place. Some of the staff had good knowledge of the buildings, others not quite so good. Tea room in old building very good.

“A lovely Welsh Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Only to say that this place is a really lovely museum, I have been there a few times over the years, and I never get bored of the place. Its a fascinating exploration of Welsh culture, and way of life. I remember the 'Gwalia Store' being at Ogmore Vale, and the outside looks exactly the same in the grounds of the museum, as it did at Ogmore, A really nice restoration. Well worth going to
