Have been to this pub many times for a drink on a sunny day as it has a beautiful setting, lovely outside seating and a small play area for young children. Went there today with family and friends for Sunday lunch and the food and service was poor. I had a beef dinner which was void of any flavour, the meat was bitty, just lots of small pieces of tough beef and the vegetables were soggy. The service was slow at best; we had to chase for drinks and for childrens menus and when they came the drinks were wrong. I have eaten here before and the food is never great, but its ok if you stick to the basic fare of jacket potatoes or scampi, it's just not worth trying the more exciting things on the menu as they aren't up to it. I would recomend as somewhere to stop when the sun is shining so you can sit outside, but if eating stick to the basics and keep expectations low.
