“Above the world.”

The highest peak in South Wales. A fantastic walk to blow away the blues. Beautiful views and clean crisp air. What an achievement when you reach the summit ! ! .

“Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Put this place on your bucket list. If you go there in winter you will find a blasted landscape that makes you feel like the tiny insignificant human speck that that we all are. Nature is there in all her glory with driving sleet, low cloud and howling winds. The summer welcomes you with open arms, gentle sunsets and quiet pubs full of the happiest people on the planet. The Brecon Beacons are full of magic; go there to recharge your humanity and to be reminded of your place in the great scheme of things; nature doesn't even know we exist-cool. I proposed to my wife on Pen-Y-Fan, she's Welsh so that worked... Go there outside the tourist season and experience true peace on an overcrowded island. Compass, map and a smile = bliss. You can hear the blood in your veins...

“Big hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

One of Wales's most scenic attractions - it has always been a burning ambition to climb the mountain that I can see from my home almost 18 miles away! It took us quite a while to go up and back down but it was worth it just for the view
