Having trekked in the National Park until late in the day we arrived at the camp site and saw a sign for the Three Horseshoes Inn. We called to say we were on our way, knowing they'd be likely to stop serving food due to the time. They reserved a table for us - the last one in the place!
We expected a run of the mill village pub with average food and couldn't have been more surprised when we arrived!! We had a local ale on tap called Tribute which was delicious and were shown to our table. The atmosphere was great, clearly a place where people go to treat themselves but it was still comfortable and down to earth.
The menu offered lots of choice including a more expensive a la carte section and a bar food section. We ordered meals from the bar food menu at around the 10 pounds mark. The food was absolutely wonderful, first class and amazing value!
We couldn't resist dessert and we were not disappointed, again the food was fantastic and the tastes left us euphoric (no doubt the bottle of red from a decent wine list also helped!).
Would strongly recommend this place to all - a fantastic find, we only wished we could have stayed and eaten there a second night.
