Whilst visiting the Brecons for the weekend we ate here on a cold & wet Saturday night, it was just what we were looking for. Excellent home cooked food very reasonably priced, very generous portions, make sure you save room for the home made puddings as you will be disappointed if you miss out! Decor is clean and fresh, with nice exposed beams and traditional farming equipment mounted on the walls (not over done like some places).
Good mix of locals drinking at the bat and people/families out for dinner, we were made to feel very welcome. After a very good meal we relocated in front of the open fire and were left alone to play cards, feeling totally comfortable with our surroundings!
You will struggle to find food this good yet so reasonable priced anywhere in the UK let alone the Brecon Becons!
PS - The home made steak, guiness and mushroom pie is amazing, generous pieces of tender steak, in a nice sauce with lovely crumbly pastry!
