“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012 via mobile

I have been here a few times with work colleagues for a meal always lovely food. Staff were a little rude on both trips but the food makes up for that! I had chicken with a creamy apricot sauce it was amazing! The flavours were incredible and the desserts are delicious..
Take a trip up to the shoemakers, u wont be disappointed

“Nice homey pub with good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Nice pub in the little village of Pentrebach. Mix of tourists and locals with a good, homey atmosphere. Quirky? Not so much, though the chairs obviously come from an old Chinese restaurant. The landlord and -lady are friendly and in for a laugh. They retire May 2013 so if you want a new job, here's your chance.

The menu is filled with standard pub-food but with an extra or tweak, so choosing is hard. The vegetarian options looked good too. The deserts/sweets menu was very appealing, and our choice didn't disappoint. You could've rolled me home like a barrel.

All in all: great pub!

A real pub, with locals and everything. Great food, the bloke used to have the Crown at Walton, Radnorshire.

“Brilliant food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Am struggling to comprehend how people can give this place a bad rating. Such a lovely little pub stuck in the middle of nowhere!! It served up some amazing food and the staff seemed very friendly when we were there. This place is well worth seeking out if you are staying in Brecon or Stennybridge.
