I visited in April 2013 to see the "Holiday of a Lifetime" exhibition, following the exploits of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn on the Grand tour. A subject with obvious local connections, but wider historical significance. It was a delight to see original paintings and artefacts in context, which gave them a fresh significance. The Velvet Suit was stunning. I'm not sure I would have given it a second thought out of context. The twenty-five minute film brought alive the excitement and adventure of the Grand Tour. A stunning impact for such small exhibition. I wish more museums would follow this example.
