This is just a small keep now, with many ruins of walls surrounding - however this doesn't really hinder the views or experience. What did hinder the views for me was the quarry; I couldn't help thinking that it had ruined the whole view on my entire trip going from lovely forest green to grey rocks for miles.
Albeit this it was a worth while trip, although it was short. It only takes a short time to get to the ruins from the main road via a brilliant small nature walk and without any other people there it does feel like a bit of a world of its own.
My advice would be to wander around the surrounding forest area as well.
