“Good apart from the awful tasteless chips!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Called in for lunch on one of the glorious sunny days we have had recently. Have to say it was very busy but the service was reasonably quick!! The young lady on the till was polite and efficient.
Hubby ordered his trademark fish, chips & mushy peas, I was spoilt for choice as the menu was very varied but decided to go with the welsh black burger which came with side salad, four small dips of sour cream, pickle, bbq sauce and coleslaw, three enormous onion rings and a huge helping of chips. The burger and onion rings with the salad was enough for me which was just as well as the few chips I tried were horrendous!!! Hubby, who would eat chips in his sleep if he could, said they were the worst chips he had ever tasted and actually left half!!! I think they leave them too long after cooking in a hotbox which makes them spongy, creased up with an awful aftertaste!! The waitress did ask when collecting the plates if we had enjoyed our meal? I said no the chips were vile, but she just gave an awkward laugh and walked away!!

Have to say the meal was rather good value for the generous amount served. But please, please sort the chips out for the restaurant food. You are supposed to be a fish & chippy after all!!!

“OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Ate here a couple of times . Good location , just by the train station . Free parking opposite . Plenty of spaces inside and outside as well . Food was ok though a bit pricey . Serves fairly quickly . Overall reasonable .

“What a waste of money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Came here bank holiday Sunday fancied sausage and chips and seeing this was the only option didn't have a choice. There seemed to be loads of people in the kitchen but not doing a lot apart from talking and not paying any attention of anything else. The young lad on the till didn't have a clue what he was doing. Wasn't given an option to sit in or take out but was given the sausage and chips in a soggy bottom box covered in salt and as there was no body sitting inside apart from the odd 1 which we were then rudely told by a young girl we weren't allowed to sit inside with take away boxes. It may be me but does it really matter I paid for them ill eat them where I want and your not even busy. When we finally got outside to eat them opened the box to half cooked powdery chips and cheap sausage that must of only been 2% meat!! Needless to say we left it after 1 bite. Gross never again

“Not Bad but Not Great Either”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

On our way through Betws-y-Coed one day, my girlfriend and I decided to stop for some lunch and Spinnaker seemed like a reasonable choice. In summary, we found that the food we ordered was good enough to satisfy our hunger but not really worth raving about. The staff were friendly and the service was fairly quick so we can't complain too much!

For what we got (two baguettes, a couple of drinks and a bowl of chips), we felt it was actually quite expensive and whilst our baguettes were adequate, we weren't very happy with our chips, which seemed to have been overcooked.

“best fish and chips around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We ordered fish and chips to take away as we were on a coach tour and did not want to waste time sitting down to eat, while we were waiting for the fish to be cooked the staff were prepering food for restaurant I was very sorry I could not stay and eat, all the food was cooked to order was fresh and well cooked. We saw a pzza made from scratch looked fab the salads were fresh and plentyful and the cooked breakfasts and burgers looked great, If I am around the area again I would go again.
