Went on the off chance with my friend and we had a really nice Sunday lunch. Better than that we had the best waitress ever.she was Irish and so pleasant, funny and helpful. Although she took a long time helping us with our choice of meal (my friend was being really fussy!)she was really efficient and hard working. Sunday lunch was hot and tasty. The gravy would have been better in a jug so that we could pour it out ourselves. The side vegetables and potatoes were really tasty, hot and tasty. The young man at the till in the bar was really nice too. As a perk you also get a parking place opposite the hotel for £2 which will be refunded as long as you spend £10 in the shop next door, Anna Davies,or in this restaurant.
I did not stay over night at this hotel but can not remove the 'green' dot from the 'terrible' in the rating review.
Betws y Coed is a very busy village throughout the year and it is difficult to get a nice, welcoming reasonable place to eat. I know this because over the years I must have been there dozens of times. If there is room in the car park over the road to the hotel ,which is smack bang in the middle of the village you would be foolish not to go!
