“Lovely views, lovely host, lovely food, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We stayed again in May having been several times now. We are made to feel so welcome it feels like coming home.Great size room overlooking the river. Very quiet and peaceful - my wife, my daughter and I slept like logs. Nothing is too much trouble for Claire - having worked in customer service for 15 years its great to see someone with a passion to make sure her customers are relaxed and feel cared for. Sometimes its the little things - like seeing all my daughter's teddy bears arranged neatly on the bed when we returned. The downside.....trying to get my daughter in the car to go home at the end of a smashing holiday.
The large welsh breakfast is huge and fresh, the hotel and parking is in a fantastic location - in the heart of the town and yet in a quiet spot next to the river. We will return as soon as we can on our next trip to North Wales.

Room Tip: Interrogation room (number 2) is lovely.

Have stayed numerous times and each time we're never disappointed hospitality is second to none rooms are always spotless and comfortable. A fabulous base you relax from the minute you enter and are made to feel welcome.
The breakfast is always cooked lovely and as you request and plentiful nothing is to much trouble have recommended to several friends and we always try to visit three or four times a year to recharge always go home feeling refreshed and spoilt .
Keep doing what you do Claire always a pleasure.

Room Tip: All rooms equally as good

We stayed here for a couple of nights and would happily return. The Fingerprint room was cosy and comfortable and the setting, a little out of the main bit of town by the river, is really beautiful. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling with a beautiful view over the hills. Wifi was pretty much nonexistent in our room but that didn't bother us much, it was a good opportunity for an escape! A lovely little place that I hope to return to again one day.

We stayed in Henylls (The Courthouse) in 2009 and it was such a lovely spot, that I returned with my Mother (searching her family roots) in May, 2013.

It had changed hands since we had been on our previous visit, while Claire the proprietor was extremely helpful and a great cook - I found that the accommodation was looking very tired. Both times we stayed in the Lawyer's Room which has absolutely stunning views over the river and fields. However the beds (both the double and single where very uncomfortable), the toilet seat had a large chip. out of it, light bulbs needed replacing and the supplies where a little hard to take.

My Mother was not well (nasty flu picked up on her travels) - when she finished the box of tissues, we put the box in the rubbish - a new box of tissues was placed in the room or so we thought!! There had only been a very small handful placed in the top of the new box; I know Claire is trying to sell the property but its sad that she is cutting corners on what could be a stunning little B&B

For a weekend break in Snowdonia you can't go wrong with this place. Claire, the proprietor, is so helpful and smiley that you feel instantly at home. Her cooking is superb and she can't do enough for you. The location is perfect for Snowdonia and the Conwy area, and the B&B itself is nestled by the river making for a beautiful sight to wake up to each morning. Decor isn't fancy, but it's homely and very clean. Not much more you could ask for really!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you want river views.

Our stay at the Courthouse was sadly short but very enjoyable. Claire, our host, was very welcoming and helpful, our room, the fingerprint room, was cosy and spotless, well equipped and beautifully presented. The full Welsh breakfast certainly set us up for the day.The Courthouse is an unusual and characterful b and b, well placed in the lovely village with easy access to snowdonia and further afield to the whole of north wales. We would certainly love to have a return visit soon, and would strongly recommend The Courthouse to anyone heading to north wales. All in all a great stay. Thank you Claire.

Just got home from a week spent in the Old Courthouse at Betws-y-Coed. The accommodation and welcome were terrific. Ideally placed for walking, cycling, driving or taking the train. Stayed in the Handcuff room!! Great room, Great food. Great hosts. We have already recommended it to friends and we would certainly return. Jan & Graham
