“The perfect place to spend a long weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Just spent the long easter weekend at Tan Dinas where we were made to feel at home from the minute we stepped through the front door. Eileen & John have a beautiful home, which is what Tan Dinas feels like, in a stunning location. For breakfast there is a good choice and are some of the best we have tasted, thanks John. It's the perfect place for walking, which we did plenty of. Eileen goes that little bit extra, buns on arrival & even an easter egg on easter sunday. We will be back some day.

How nice it was to have you and your friends to stay. John is delighted to hear you enjoyed your breakfasts so much, he certainly is a whizz in the kitchen. Thank you for writing such a nice review, please come back again and let me show you some of the other wonderful walks in this beautiful area.

Getting out of the car you are struck first of all by the quietness, then your ear tunes in to the numerous birds and the trickle of water as it flows out of the forest and down the hill.

Tan Dinas is set above the village. The car parking is vast compared with other B&B's. You can walk down to the village in around 10-15 minutes, slightly longer on the way back up.

We had a lovely room with spectacular views. It was very comfy. Nice shower in the en suite with soaps and shampoos included.

Our one night stay was part of an extended trip to celebrate my wife's birthday and Eileen had made a few little chocolate cakes to have with our coffee when we arrived. A really thoughtful gesture.

John looked after us really well, with recommendations as to where we should eat and walks through the forest so we could reach the famous Swallow Falls from the other side. A great breakfast was provided in the morning, which set us up nicely for the journey home.

Warm and friendly hospitality, excellent breakfasts, warm and comfy rooms - lovely house in a lovely location.

Your review is much appreciated and thank you. Parking is at a premium in Betws y Coed and, as you say, we are most fortunate to have such a large car park (12 spaces) which is off road and private with our own little stream running to the rear. This means we can offer our guests the facility to arrive early in the morning and leave their car before checking in later in the day. We are so happy to hear that your wife enjoyed her birthday and you both enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you here again.

I enjoyed a tranquil stay at Tan Dinas. The owners were a joy offering fantastic hospitality, local knowledge and a great breakfast. The bedrooms and other public areas were tastefully decorated and the facilities provided were impressive. The hotel is in a great location with fabulous views and the surrounding countryside is fabulous for exploring welsh mountains and villages. For a change of scene I even had a great day on the coast at Llandudno which was not too far away.
Thanks to Eileen and John for such a fabulous escape!

What a great hidden gem. Set in the forest near Betws- y-Coed only a short walk into the village, ideal. You are made to feel at home by Eileen & John, with superb breakfasts to set you up for the day. If you are a runner the back garden ie the Forest is just waiting to be explored! Spotless rooms, comfy bed and handy fridge in the room.

Many thanks for writing a review about your recent stay. It was nice to catch up with someone from the "homeland" and discuss times gone by - a bit of nostalgia set me up for the day. You certainly chose the right place to stay when you set off for a run through the woods in the early hours, it's like a piece of heaven as you run through the early morning mist which gives way to the splendour of Gwydyr Forest, lucky you. Hope you will be back soon, plenty of forest to explore. Best Wishes and thanks again.

We decided to have a one night get away from everything for a little valentines trip and my word how we got away! The sound of the nearby river as we stepped out of the car set the tone of serenity and bags of character for the rest of the trip.
The B&B is nestled quietly away in the woodland just up from Betws-y-Coed itself.
As we entered the B&B we were met with harm smiles and a hearty welcome from Eileen and John, and the sense that no request was too big or small. We were then shown to our room, which was absolutely lovely and clean, with beautiful individually decorated features to suit the light and a beautiful view of the surrounding woodland valley. We went for a meal that evening and then came back and enjoyed a bottle of wine in our room with the glasses from the delightful reading room the Eileen encouraged us to use. The next morning we were greeted with a fine breakfast, I must recommend you try John's Welch Rarebit, as I did so very much enjoy it myself.
This was a superb get away and a real treat for the both of us! If you are wanting to stay in the area for any reason this is the B&B you should go for! Quite literally everything was perfect.

We appreciate that despite writing your dissertation at the moment you found time to write such a wonderful review. You can see now why we describe our business as a hidden gem of peace and tranquility, apart from the ever present birdsong and noise of the brook going through our grounds, it's so peaceful, you can hear yourself dream. Thank you again.

My sister and I had a great 2 night stay - too short a break! It's a great base for walking the beautiful northern welsh mountains, and the room and breakfast were first class standard. the village is charming too. Thank you Eileen and John for your warm hospitality and good food - we would love to come back again soon!

It was special having you and your twin sister stay and sharing our experiences in Nepal with you. We wish you every success and enjoyment on your trek to Base Camp and hope you return to climb some more of the beautiful mountains on our doorstep in Snowdonia National Park. Thank you for your review.

We have stayed at in many B & B's in the UK and Tan Dinas is by far the best. It's location is away from the noise of the town while still within easy walking distance of the many cafes and resturants. Our room was on the first floor and was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything that you many need, the biscuits and sweets were a nice touch. The bathroom while compact was spotlessly clean and very functional. We were there for three days and each morning had a different breakfast from the menu and this set us up for the day. We have stayed at other B & B's in Betws-y-Coed and experienced problems with parking, not at Tan Dinas their car park was the best we have come across. John & Eileen are wonderful host and we will stay with them again when we next return to Betws-y-Coed.

How thrilled we were to receive your review. To remember us 9 months after your stay speaks volumes and we thank you. John and I do our utmost to ensure our guests have a good holiday and parking their car is certainly part of the experience. Our car park will hold twice as many cars as guests which means there is always space! We are already looking forward to welcoming you back.
