“Charming, didn't want to leave!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Gorgeous building, tastefully decorated. What a lovely welcome walking into the sitting room with a fire & seeing such a beautifully set dining table with flowers, candles and fruit. It was exciting knowing I would be having my breakfast in such a lovely room.
It was a joy to have all the candles alight as we walked back in after being out for dinner.
Service was great and location terrific. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Warm welcome from Carol. 16th century building beautifully converterted into guesthouse. We stayed in the Red Lion front room. Massive comfy bed. Fab breakfast. Attention to detail is lovely. We will be visiting Cornerstones again.

We spent only a night here, wish it had been more. We had the attic room which was spacious, comfortable but snug double bed (great linen), good shower. Fluffy bathrobes, fresh milk in the tiny little fridge, wine cooler, etc. It is an old 16th C building so ceilings are low - not the place to stay if you prefer sterile and new with square corners. Free parking (you can park outside the hotel for 15 mins or so to unload your luggage), guest lounge with DVD library you can take to your room for free, good breakfast, and very friendly and helpful staff. Right in the centre of town so easy to walk everywhere. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Attic room which is the cheapest was great with view of the river and the street on the other side o...

This is an excellent guesthouse with friendly and helpful staff. Great little touches like welsh cakes in our room and a lovely carrafe of sherry in the communal lounge made this special. The cooked breakfast was just amazing and used locally sourced products wherever possible. Highly recommended. The McKenzies.

Nice little guest house. Room was lovely and facilities in the room were great. Clean and we had a wonderful view looking over the river. Don't feel this deserves a 5 star rating though. When you arrive, the front is drab and the main area you are greeted is very dark and lifeless. The staff are very pleasant but we felt that the service was not very professional for a five star guest house. We asked by phone for more milk and was told "I AM HAVING A BATH" over the phone. Plug in the bath was dangerous as it was broken off ,its chain and had been repaired with wire and had fell off into the bath, could have cut myself in the bath. Lovely location though and handy for the main shopping area.

Room Tip: river view.
