My wife Jane and I share the same birthday, and every year we like to do something nice to celebrate together, usually a couple of days away in a place where we can take walks, chillax, have a nice meal or two. This year, we decided to try Llangollen, a new place for us. Like a lot of people we were inspired to walk the canal by Julia Bradbury's TV programme. We chose Geufron Hall because of its peaceful location, in quiet farmland high above the town below. It looked great in the photos. It's a bit of a trek up from the town, even by car, but boy, is it worth it when you get there....
You want views? They've got views to die for. Words like "breathtaking" are often over-used. Not here. You want a warm welcome? It was 26 degrees when we arrived, and the cheery bonhomie firstly from Carlton, and later Beth was as warm as the weather. You want attention to detail? These guys have got everything covered. Talk to the other guests and you'll find yourself agreeing that everything about this place is just a little bit....different from everywhere else. A small detail here, a little touch there. They all add up to a unique and very rewarding experience. Geufron Hall has a calm, happy vibe about the place. During our stay, even the other guests were amongst the friendliest we'd ever met, and that's no coincidence. It's just that kind of place. It's easy to forget you're a guest sometimes, but the balance is just right - if you prefer to stay in your own space you can. The important stuff goes without saying....our room was absolutely spotless, superbly prepared and presented, faultlessly comfortable and had an outlook you couldn't put a price on. Ultimately though, what we will remember most about our stay at Geufron Hall in years to come will be the special little touches, the lovely gestures from the hosts that set it apart from anywhere we've ever stayed at. All things considered, it was the best birthday we've ever had. Thanks again guys.

Wow, what can we say? Your review left us, quite literally, with a tear in our eye. We've never read such a charming, gracious, and heart-warming review; if we had written the review ourselves we wouldn't have dared to be as generous as you've both been. Thank you.

It was an absolute pleasure having you both to stay - and if we can't roll the red carpet out for a double birthday, when can we?!
But most of all, we'd like to echo your comments about our guests. We have been so lucky to have such an eclectic, delightful, and friendly bunch of people staying with us and it is they who create such a great atmosphere. We love doing what we do and beautiful comments like yours spur us on and keep us motivated.
We'd love to welcome you both back - perhaps on your next birthday when we can try and beat this year's?
Thank you again,
Beth and Carlton
