“Great place to use as a base”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Incredibly friendly place to stay... Relaxed atmosphere and very central - just around the corner from the main street.

Nice touches include restaurant guides with recommendations, local information guides and although not used, spices in the self-catering kitchen...

If I have one complaint, it's the fact that there isn't a member of staff on 24 hours, who would have been able to deal with the incredibly noisy stag party that came back in the early hours, waking every other guest up.

Otherwise, it's an ideal place to use as a base when in North Wales.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms at the front - Berwyn Street is awash with lorries going back and forth to loggin...

I stayed here for two nights with my sister her partner, and my children (there were 5 of us in total),we all stayed in room 6 all 5 of us,i was worried about us all being suffocated by space but the rooms were spacious and clean, and we had our own ensuite which was convienient for us and the shower ( very powerfull). The breakfast was just your usual cereal, toast, juice, tea and coffee which you have to do yourself, but is plentiful.(you also have use of the kitchen area,so after your breakfast you have to clean your own dishes, but the kitchen is handy if you are hungary in the evening as you can cook yourself something, there is also a convience supermarket across the road which is handy but very expensive!).The hostel has a lounge area which you can use, which has board games if you or your children are board?.I did not see any towels in the rooms and i do not know if the hostel supplys them on request so it might be best to bring your own, they do have toiltetrys in the corridors in case you forget your own.I did have a good nights sleep but i did get woken up a few times due to teenagers giggling on the stairs on our 2nd night. The hostel staff are very nice and friendly and cant do enough for you.I would go back there again but at the most 2/3 nights and the only reason for this is because i would have liked a tv in our room. You do get free wifi, you just need to enter the code to recieve it,i had no problem with my signal on my phone but my sisters partner had problem with his signal? over all we had a good stay for two nights.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with an ensuite shower room and try and get a top floor room which might be less...

From the minute we walked through the door we felt at home in this place. Stayed for one night with my husband and two daughters aged 6 and 4. They were entertained with a selection of board games, jigsaws ad books.
The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. This was our first stay in a hostel and we were pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here this weekend, great location and Beth met me and showed me where everything was.
Very clean, great facilities and very friendly, municipal parking out back, supermarket out front.
Really enjoyed my stay, will be back again, can't recommend it enough, don't think I will be taking a tent anywhere again with places like this, recommended.

The Hostel is in a great location, with a super market across the street. It was clean, sunny and quiet. We had the en suite room for our party of 4 adults. The kitchen was big and well stocked with what you'd need to cook a meal. Breakfast was toast and a variety of cereals. Coffee is instant, turns out that that is the norm in the Welsh hostels, so bring your own if it doesn't suit. Or drink tea like a native. We had a car and there was a pay parking lot out the back door. We should have stayed in the area longer.

The hostel is well located right next to the town centre, ideal for days out countryside as much as evenings in the town. Welcoming and friendly people, excellent rooms, warm, clean and tidy, lovely communal areas - very highly recommended!
