“Splendid!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

We stayed at Dinbren hall cottage in February and so happy that we made the trip. This is definitely a hidden treasure in north Wales, and we used this stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of London...allowing us to take a', step back and slow down to country pace!

The venue surroundings are beautiful with mountains, valleys, old castles, and streams surrounding us. The 1 mile walk to Llangollen town centre is ideal and enough here to make a longer stay stimulating enough.

The actual drive to the hall from the front gates sets the scene for your stay.

The cottage itself is very warm, cosy and welcoming, and would be a perfect place for several couples to stay and chill out.

Sue and Paul are both fantastic and when we arrived were welcomed with cakes and a platter of fresh sandwiches specially prepared for us - the kind of service that has become extinct in the Modern day chain hotels. They are so friendly and attentive.

we wished we had more time to stay longer and check out Llangollen further. We definitely plan to return if we can, next time in the warmer summer months.

We look forward to the return leg! Thank you both!

Thank you gains both

We were blown away by the warm welcome at Dinbren Hall Cottage, the forerunner of a wonderful experience. We arrived at lunchtime and the table was laid with candles, wine, sandwiches and cake in the beautiful conservatory. The cottage was spacious, stylish and immaculate - Susan has a wonderful eye for detail. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, they anticipated our every need.
We were five people visiting Llangollen for the eisteddford. The location was perfect, close to town yet hidden away. With parking at a premium, Paul drove us to and from town many times. Highly recommended.

dinbren hall all that you could wish for when arriving in a country for the first time. From the moment we pulled up and were greeted by Sue who is the hostess with the mostest as the saying goes. Nothing was too much for these wonderful owners right down to a beautiful table of food on our arrival. No hotel offers you such a wekcome. The outlook and surrounding hills were something else and listening to the eisteddford music drifting up the valley to the house was unforgettable. pam and jim western australia

On arrival we were greeted by the owners Sue & Paul as if we were long lost friends. Their sole purpose appeared to be to make us comfortable and ensure that we'd enjoy our stay in this wonderful location. After a delayed arrival following our long journey it was wonderful to be presented with a platter of freshly cut sandwiches and chocolate cake.

Dinbren Hall Cottage is situated in the midst of rolling hills, overlooked by the ruins of Dinas Bran Castle. The cottage was very cosy and beautifully decorated throughout, the private courtyard being festooned with an array of colourful flowers.

The surrounding area was fantastically peaceful, yet within easy striking distance of the sights and attractions of Llangollen. Our weekend was filled with walks, cycle rides and other outdoor activities (e.g. Archery and Axe Throwing) enhanced on our return by the peace and tranquility of Dinbren Hall Cottage.

Having stayed in many a self-catering cottage, we have no hesitation in recommending this splendid accommodation as it is one of the very best. We will undoubtedly return in the near future.

I am a little reluctant to write an honest review of Dinbren Hall Cottage as I’d really like to keep details of this wonderful cottage secret so that we can get a booking when we want to return. However, this wouldn’t be fair to the hosts and owners Susan and Paul, who have made the cottage adjoining their home a little paradise and couldn't be more attentive to their guests requirements. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds and as you drive up the long drive the views are just stunning. Everything a visitor could want in a holiday cottage is provided, and all to a very high standard. With so much to do and see in the area, the problem is spending enough time in the cottage to fully enjoy the facilities. We would have liked to have spent much longer, maybe next time.

We stayed before February, but there's not an option for that on here!
The cottage is situated surrounded by beautiful hills a very short drive from Llangollen. Three of us arrived late on a Friday to be greeted by a beaming Sue, the owner, she couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Our cottage had three double bedrooms, all very nicely decorated and all ensuite. The cottage adjoins their house, but you have your own courtyard, sitting areas, parking and are almost totally private. Our stay couldn't have been better or more relaxing. Anything we possibly needed was provided and we left wanting to return there for our next holiday.
I can't recommend it highly enough!!

Dinbren Hall Cottage stood out amongst our searches for a holiday location as stunningly as it does on the hill side of Llangollen. From the second we began the booking process to the second we said our goodbyes we were given such friendly and attentive attention. Susan, Paul and their family made our stay so very special, suggesting places to visit, places to eat and drink and going over and above any expectations we had from our hosts.

The cottage is a real luxury, furnished and decorated to the highest standard with everything you could need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday, slippers, fluffy bathrobes and even rubber ducks for the bath!

There are great walks around the cottage and only 1 mile outside Llangollen. The area is full of history and so very peaceful yet is so easily accessible to tourist attractions, river walks, canal boat trips and activity sports.

I can not recommend Dinbren Hall Cottage enough it is truly a breathtaking and beautiful find which we can not wait to return to. Special thanks to Susan who really deserves a hostess award all of her own!
