“Comfortable, hospitable, fantastic views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2010

Great place to stay ( just as previous responders have said) Good food.
You can go to the top of the building and have a fantastic view of the town; also great views from dining room.
Some roads a bit narrow, especially through the town wall archway.
One negative was that the duvets made us too warm, lighter weight bedding was needed.

Conwy is really a good place, the city is clean, we spend a good evening at the hostel, the staff is helpful, and the room is clean, the only problem is the ceiling is too thin, we can heard the kids upstairs jumped up and down.

Jack (aged 4) and I had a wonderful stay at Conwy YHA. The hostel is bright, clean and modern and is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the castle walls. The well-equipped self-catering area and the YHA cafe share an upstairs dining area with fabulous views. We found the shared dining area very sociable as it enabled us to mingle with the other guests. Jack especially liked the "kiddies' corner" with its books and toys - a really nice idea, and again, very sociable (unless you don't like 4 year olds!). The staff are really warm and welcoming, especially Christine, Katy and John the chef. Thank you for looking after us so well, we really enjoyed our stay and we have already highly recommended Conwy YHA to friends and family..

Great to hear rom you and we are very grateful for your kind words. We were just some how puzzled after such a great review from you. You would not recommend us to your friends and family. Maybe you could let us know what we could do to improve the centre. It is also possible that you may have say "No" when possibly you meant "yes".

Please let us know.

Wanted to stay near the beach at short notice and found the family room rate better than any B&B we could find. As it turned out we couldn't have found somewhere with better views so close to the the great Conway beach (near the marina and much better than Llandudno which are also good). Staff all really friendly, room really clean and comfortable, which made the stay with 2 kids under 4 very pleasant. Easy walking distance from Conway, with station and fantastic castle. We self catered but food restaurant looked and smelt good. Local ales from bar went down very well whilst eating tea looking out at the sea with mountains behind. This YH made a last minute break very easy and fun.

Really quiet hostel, amazing lounge and terrace area with spectacular views. The staff were always very helpful, and the games room was cool. The self-catering kitchen was very useful. The only drawback is that the rooms were way too hot at night.

The staff couldn't be more helpful and cheerful. The set-up is ideal: both self-catering kitchen and a food service that was quite decent. Good play areas inside for the children, nice lounges, and plenty of space for everyone to cook, even on a bank holiday w/e.
Good location for beaches, or Snowdonia, easy to reach either by car or train.
The rooms were basic, but cleaned everyday, and the mattresses and pillows were comfortable. We booked a twin and ended up with bunk beds (!), but the staff tried to organise a double for us. Apparently we should have understood that on the YHA booking website.
Overall, great value for money, a secure premises, and quiet at night.

Ideal hostel to chill out with fab views of the area and experience welsh culture in Conwy. Plenty of places to visit in Conwy and the history. Hostel has food and drink as well if you don't feel like cooking. Staff very helpful.
There is an award winning deli/butcher for sandwiches, pies and cakes. The bakery has wonderful chocolate donuts and welsh cakes. Plenty of places for coffee and afternoon tea.
Walk around to the marina - great place to take photographs of the area and local wildlife.
Good Transport links via train or buses.
Check for any local events.
