“A long weekend in North Wales”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2010

It was my wife's half term so we traveled to North Wales to fulfill a long term ambition to ride on the Welsh Highland Railway, we were not disappointed. Although I was born in the northwest of England I was hardly aware of Conwy and its amazing castles and grounds which finally we have been able to explore more thoroughly. Thank you YHA!

I was recovering from an achilles rupture, and was not able to do very much at home, and was certainly not able to walk far with my air boot, and crutches. Life was very difficult and it was great to come somewhere within easy driving distance for my hubby.

We were not disappointed. We had a double bed, and the views from the conservatory at the top of the building, via the lift, were breathtaking. Our evening meal in the restaurant was absolutely top notch, and the service was very good. The staff really took the care to make sure that everything was ok. The food was the standard of a first class hotel. The views out of the panoramic windows were magnificent. There was also gentle music being played by a gentleman playing the keyboard. What more could anyone want, and also at the reasonable prices of a YHA and not first class hotel prices, but of the same standard.

Thank you.

I brought a childrens football team to Conwy to take part in a local football tournament. There were 10 families, and each and every one of them enjoyed staying here. This is our first experience of staying in a Youth Hostel, and we will definatley be doing it again. Many families have said they would like to come back to Conwy YHA for a family holiday. The rooms were very clean, and all had en-suite. Kitchen and BBQ area had everything we needed to have an enjoyable evening. Safe surrounding's for the children.

Fantastic experience!!

Beautiful hostel set on stunning hill top overlooking Conwy and surrounding harbour of Llandudno. The (4- bed) room was clean and modern with modern bunks, fresh sheets and spotless ensuite. Great modern and spacious kitchen with gorgeous dining area. I really loved the views from the dining area at night with the pretty night lights..really breathtaking views.
I have stayed at many yha hostels world wide over 10 years and can truly say this is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The only one thing I can say which is negative is the steep hill one has to climb to get to it but then it is also a positive as the views are so stunning when one gets to the hostel! Very comfortable areas to relax inside with plenty of space also lovely large outdoor garden areas with large wooden tables to dine or have a drink. The staff were the icing on the cake as they were all so friendly and warm. Truly outstanding hostel and excellent value as well. Would love to go back again one day, left feeling very refreshed . Definitely recommend it, it is a hidden gem. Has a restaurant though did not have dinner there so do not know what the food is like. However did have the breakfast which was very good, home cooked and hot and cold buffet with large variety - fantastic value for 5 pounds. I really loved best the fantastic views and the amount of space there was- a definite plus even compared with staying in more expensive hotels which would not have that feature- gave it a resort like feel. Generous car park outside so would be ideal for people with cars.(which is good for the area good for walking etc) Absolutely stunning hostel

Very nice place to stay even though quite tough to walk up hill to get to this hostel, but after I got there, i felt the tough walked is worth it. Nice room with toilet inside for each room. Big kitchen and place to eat. if weather is nice can seat outside to eat, so good!
