We had a lovely weekend in a place we would never have thought to visit usually. A very last minute booking was the reason for our choice., The unfortunate picture in the YHA brochure giving it the look of a seventies polytechnic was possibly the reason for their being able to accommodate our large party at the last minute. ?! But it wasn't so bad! The staff were lovely and it had stunning views from the roof deck
Loved Conwy castle! The kids climbed every single one of the 9? towers and it tied in nicely with our 2 yr 7's current history topic. You can walk almost all the way around the town wall, one entrance located just below the hostel.
If the YHA had a cleanest kitchen competition ( like 'best kept village') THIS would win. (probably not a bad idea? have you seen Kendal! -icky.) When you have a few kids in the party it is so important to be able to relax and cook at the end of the day and this was PERFECT. You could see the kids the whole time from the large kitchen windows, playing in the huge garden. We were then able to leave our 5 kids to do all the washing up!
,Also had a rather impressive BBQ deck which we didn't use ( April) Brrr.
Very relaxed weekend. Recommended.
Also can highly recommend Greenwood Fun park 18 miles away. Great day.!
