“The Cleanest YHA guest kitchen I have EVER seen..and I've seen a few.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2010

We had a lovely weekend in a place we would never have thought to visit usually. A very last minute booking was the reason for our choice., The unfortunate picture in the YHA brochure giving it the look of a seventies polytechnic was possibly the reason for their being able to accommodate our large party at the last minute. ?! But it wasn't so bad! The staff were lovely and it had stunning views from the roof deck

Loved Conwy castle! The kids climbed every single one of the 9? towers and it tied in nicely with our 2 yr 7's current history topic. You can walk almost all the way around the town wall, one entrance located just below the hostel.

If the YHA had a cleanest kitchen competition ( like 'best kept village') THIS would win. (probably not a bad idea? have you seen Kendal! -icky.) When you have a few kids in the party it is so important to be able to relax and cook at the end of the day and this was PERFECT. You could see the kids the whole time from the large kitchen windows, playing in the huge garden. We were then able to leave our 5 kids to do all the washing up!

,Also had a rather impressive BBQ deck which we didn't use ( April) Brrr.

Very relaxed weekend. Recommended.

Also can highly recommend Greenwood Fun park 18 miles away. Great day.!

Good location - on edge of town. Lovely views from Viewing library. No need for car so can walk into town for local amenities. Very friendly staff. Good comfortable double bed - roomy. Felt very relaxed.

We tried youth hostelling again after a break of many years - this time with two small children in tow. We did not regret it. The children loved the Conway YHA and that meant an enjoyable and relaxing time for all. The location is excellent with superb views all around, the food was great ( a two course evening meal for 4 for under £20!!) and the hostel has great facilities for the kids to explore. The room was basic, of course, and bunk beds are not my idea of comfort but, with a YH what do you expect!? This is the first of many YHA experiences, I'm sure!

We booked this hostel as it was no chance to find other, available places in Snowdonia during Easter 2010. I was not disappointed! Spent afternoon in the city of Conwy enjoying beautiful castle and city center. The hostel is calm, safe and friendly place to stay!
