We stayed at the Conwy Lodge for 2 nights in September. The rooms are challets which was great for the dog. - Meant I didn't have to bring here through any shared areas and in the morning and last thing at night I didn't have far to take her for her to relieve herself. The dog cost £5.00 per night which i didn't have a troblem paying if the money had been spent on extra cleaning !
We spilt tea on the tea/coffee tray and the little cloth wasn't changed by room service, neither were the biscuites replaced There was no attention to detail. The room felt a bit damp probably not helped by the particularly bad weather. The bathroom was very small and after a days walking I was looking forward to a hot soak ,however, when I ran my hand over the bathtub it had traces of scum around it and nothing to clean it with. I had to make do with a shower instead.
Breakfast was disappointing Juice or friut (I like both because I'm not interested in cearel) The cooked breakfast was lukewarm served on cold plates The food had bearly toached the pan and it was so pink I didn't even take it back to the dog, for fear of tape worm . Extra tea, toast ,butter all had to be asked for, the staff didn't appear to belive in asking if everything was all right, or if anything else was wanted/needed. We didn't bother with breakfast the second morning. Overall the place would have been passable if it had been cheaper but at £90 a night (not including the dog) it was over priced. We didn't feel "looked after" and everything felt like it was done on the cheap.

What an odd place.. not horrible, not nice, just odd. If you want a traditional hotel with atmosphere then this isnt the place. If you want quiet, relaxed, non fussy and an unobtrusive stay then it just may be,

The rooms are actually in a large outbuilding, chalet style, and not part of the 'hotel' . The main building is , well ,just plain odd. There is no reception area that we saw, with the reception being the bar itself. The whole place has a feel of a converted Village Hall. Theres nothing wrong it, its actually very nice, but there is no atmosphere here whatseover other than that of the friendly family staff. There werent many peopl staying when we were there so we kinda felt we were intruding somehow.
The gardens and grounds are absolutely lovely though.. but there is a huge car park which makes the place feel even emptier.

The rooms, well we had a basic one and it was adequate, it says they were redone four years ago, but ours certainly could have done with a revamp. Having said that we were in the basic room and did have a four legged friend with us, there were some odd damp patches which we couldnt work out, but like i say, we were in the pet friendly room and this room is hardly going to be immaculate , so perhaps you gotta expect it... maybe.. maybe not.

Food.. excellent.. no complaints.
Staff - great, friendly and welcoming.
Rooms - ours not so good.
Hotel - weird. not a hotel, more a place to stay with a restuarant in the grounds.
Area - lovely surroundings, village very quiet and almost eery.
Conclusion - rooms could do with being better. Odd place, but welcoming.

I stayed at the Conwy Lodge last summer (as it turns out, the day England were beated by Portugal) for an old friend's wedding - I loved every minute of my stay there.

The staff were so friendly and very heplful, the room was spot on and the food and hospitality were second to none. I would recommend this place to anyone and the £50 price for the night's stay and the breakfast included seemed more than value for money.

We recently stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the area for a special occasion.
The rooms we stayed in were not part of the main building but part of a row of rooms within the grounds. The decor was clean but basic and the electric shower was not working. The cost of the room for B&B was £80 which was vastly overpriced. The breakfast was good however and the place as on the whole was clean and comfortable.
