“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Food was absolutely delicious and filling. Although the prices were a little high (but not too bad for a hotel) the portion sizes were perfect unlike some places whereby you get about two forkfuls per meal!
I had the scallops to start and shin of beef for my main... no room for dessert! My partner had mussels (large!) to start and steak for his main.
I would go again if I was back up in the area.

“Faultless”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

What a great place. Staff were lovely, attentive and courteous. My wife and I had a hankering for moules after walking along the harbour. We almost despaired of finding any then we came upon the Castle Hotel. The decor was welcoming (we would have stayed longer but we only paid for 2 hours parking) and the service was first class. The moules were cooked to perfection and the local(ish) cider was a perfect accompaniment. I would happily recommend. Eating here and we will be coming back. Great value for money, great service and great atmosphere.

“Over priced and Very poor customer service, we won't be back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

We are local and went for lunch at the restaurant in the castle hotel with our 18 month old baby, we requested a bowl of plain spaghetti for our baby as he doesn't eat much, they charged £7 for it!!! I made a complaint to the staff and they asked the chef who said that was the price and wouldnt budge. The waitress even agreed with me that it was very expensive and was embarrassed. The food is very over priced and we won't be back - if you want value for money I'd stay well away, there are plenty of better restaurants in the area.

“Welcoming good food on a cold January afternoon.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Would recommend booking first as we turned up to find it very busy. The staff advised us that a table would be coming free later, so we had a couple of drinks in bar before being seated. The waiting staff were great, they were attentive and helpful. The food was sensational, well worth another visit.

“Great menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

The a la carte menu is extensive and has a fine range of appealing items to chose from with an emphasis on local produce. It was served hot and looked a delight as well as tasting so.
