“excellent as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

I have stayed at Guest House 4 times before and I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Abergavenny. Jenny & kevin are wonderful hosts making you feel at home from the mintue you step in the door. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. It is a perfect B&B for both couples and families, and there is no skimping on breakfast, with fresh eggs and homemade jams! So you would expect to be paying expensively.......not at all! Already trying to find an excuse to go back to The Guest House.

From the moment of arriving Jenny and Kevin were so natural we felt at ease straight away everything was spotless, bed really comfortable, breakfast was superb a feast. Also being situated in the town centre made it easy to get to other places to sight see. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay with Jenny and Kevin again and would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you for a relaxing and very enjoyable weekend.

I am very picky about services, decor and cleanliness and The Guest House was a delight. After a disappointing nights stay in a 4 star country hotel at twice the price per person the week before, Jenny and Kevin's Guest house was really where I wish I'd been instead. What a lovely warm and down to earth welcome! Our room was pretty, spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It was also quiet and airy on a very hot night! The parrot lent some entertainment at breakfast...and what an incredible omelette. Fresh laid duck eggs (straight from ducks and chickens in the garden) made into the best omelette I have ever tasted. I'd drive all the way from Edinburgh to have one of those again. Stay here and have the omelette. It'll make your day!

Jenny and Kevin are warm, welcoming and extremely thoughtful. We were in the family room which was spacious, clean and prettily decorated. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room as well, shampoos, conditioner and body wash.
The Guest House was spotless, and at the back, most unexpectedly is a very pretty yard in which Jenny keeps chickens and ducks. Never seen such healthy, happy and pampered birds. We had omelette for breakfast so that we could have freshly laid eggs (never had one before) and they were the best omelettes we've ever tasted. That sounds like an exaggeration, but it isn't. The breakfast buffet was delicious.
Although we used taxis for the family party we were going to, we very much appreciated Kevin's offer to take us to the venue and collect us later.
We would definitely go back to The Guest House. Thank you, Jenny and Kevin.

Thankyou, Jenny & Kevin for a lovely stay. You are first class hosts and your personalities and generous hospitality are quite unique. My daughter Lana and I enjoyed the banquet of a breakfast and felt very spoiled. Our room was very comfortable and spotless, despite the terrific heatwave, the shower and ensuite provided all we needed. You were helpful and full of useful local info too and made us feel very welcome. If you like minimal and animal free this guesthouse may not be for you. If you enjoy animals, home comforts, great food (ie freshly laid eggs from the chooks and homemade preserves) and a laugh with your hosts then you need look no further. A little gem with a big heart.

We have just returned from a great break in Abergavenny. Jenny and Kevin`s hospitality was great. This guest house is conveniently situated to the town centre, it is immaculate and the rooms have everything you could possibly need. Jenny takes the time to make sure your every need is catered for. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. This guest house offers you everything you need, privacy, cleanliness and great food. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for a great weekend. See you again.

Room Tip: We stayed during a hot spell. If you have a choice the rooms at the front of the hotel may be coole...

I have just arrived home from a stay in this excellent guest house. The rooms were lovely and contained everything you could possibly need and more, my friend and I even made use of the wine glasses. The breakfasts were excellent and I am missing them already. It was amazing to see so many different animals living so happily together and I enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the menagerie each morning. The atmosphere at the guest house was so welcoming and friendly and Jenny and Kevin are such wonderful people and very helpful with tips on places to eat and visit.

Thank you Jenny and Kevin and I look forward to seeing you again next year.
