“amazing cakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

My wife and I had lunch here on a busy Saturday. The cafe has a really good atmosphere and is seemingly always busy. Prettily decorated, the welcome and service by the owner and his staff is more than matched by the food served. We had a simple ham & mustard baguette and a cheese & onion panini with a latte and original bottled coke (a nice change from cans). However, the real reason that people eat here are the fabulous home made cakes. We opted for a slice of the raspberry ruffle cake which was amazing and tasted just like the sweets would. Total bill came to £12.50 which was good value for money considering the portion sizes. Only criticisms we had were that there was no dressing on the side salad and that the owner wouldn't give us his cake recipes!! Next time we are in Abergavenny, we will definitely return

“Lovely atmosphere on a wet Monday.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The cafe is tastefully decorated in a "shabby chic" style. It was warm and comfortable on a wet afternoon in Abergavenny and is obviously a popular location for locals and visitors alike. The owner served us and made us feel very welcome. The quiche and salads were homemade and well-priced. An impressive selection of delicious cakes was on offer and portions were huge! We enjoyed a relaxed, unhurried lunch in this lovely little cafe.

“great place to have a chat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

This cafe is cosy with a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the owner loves playing his son's music! The cakes are all home-made and too tempting to resist.
