“Very Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

This had to be one of the best museums we visited our entire trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful tapestry and talking to one of the ladies that worked on it. The museum portion is well laid out with very well thought-out displays and video presentations. This is a museum to be enjoyed by all ages. Also enjoyed the tea room on the main floor. It was reasonably priced with good food.

“Unique Barn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This barn was restored and saved as it is a unique specimen of its type. It was re-opened by Prince Charles and is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. There is also a very nice cafe at the back. As you are also near the St. Mary's Church I would definitely recommend recommend a visit. This is a beautiful church steeped in history.

Called in one very hot sunny afternoon, we sat outside in the courtyard and had coffee and some cake. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Don't miss!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This is right by the car/coach park but can be missed if you head straight up the main road. I headed first for the cafe in the Tithe Barn for coffee and cake - and decided to come back later for lunch! Nice food, good service and clean loos! I had seen a TV programme which mentioned St Mary's church so went there (across the courtyard) to see the incredible carving in wood of the Jesse tree. Plus several fascinating tomb effigies from the 13th century onwards. A totally different experience when I returned to the Tithe Barn and went upstairs to see the fascinating historical exhibition and the amazing millennium tapestry. This was a hugely ambitious undertaking and it is fascinating to see the way the history of the town has been represented - and the local lady present was able to supply so many interesting anecdotes about how the tapestry came into being

“A lovely visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

What a truly beautiful church, St. Mary's is. So enjoyed our brief visit and looking at wonderful holy artefacts. The tapestry in the visitor's centre is really magnificent, and well worth a visit. What a true labour of love.
We had a lovely lunch in the Tithe Barn Cafe - sandwiches and soft drinks. - freshly made, beautifully presented and delicious.
Altogether, a wonderful experience.
