Stayed 1 night on the way home.Chose the hotel from The Welsh Rarebit brochure( we stayed in another property from that group a few days previously and had been very impressed)
The staff were very friendly and we had good service both at breakfast and dinner.
We booked what we were told was a Dinner,Bed & Breakfast special offer at £130 for the 2 of us.It was a three course meal with a good selection although the starters weren't exciting. I wished we had booked just B&B as a main course would have been adaquate , so if you don't eat a lot or aren't particulaly hungrey just opt for the a la carte which was reasonably priced.
Breakfast was very good and very large, plenty of choice of cereals and fruit, although the Welsh Breakfast alone was more than enough.
Our bedroom was on the ground floor and we had a balcony with the most amazing views of the river and surrounding mountains. We talked about how we must come back again for 2 or 3 nights , however, after experiencing the bathroom we won't be back.To say it was compact would be an understatement. The shower over the bath would not adjust other that to lower or hold by hand so despite a half glass screen the bathroom floor was like a swimming pool by the time I had finished.Going to the loo was also an experience, having a large towel rail right next to it didn't help and I could have cleaned my teeth whilst on the loo!! When you refurb. please take out the bath and just put in a nice shower and move that towel rail. Using it was more of an ordeal that a relaxing pleasure.
Also the curtains were very torn, a picture looked like it had got wet and was all wavy. Not what I had expected. Such a shame.
