“Great site! And excellent chalet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Would definitely recommend, had a great week.
Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Great friendly staff.
Our chalet was immaculate & had a beautiful view of the river. Chalet had everything essential to have a great family holiday.
On site activities were always fun & organised.

we have had a caravan on this site for many years although we do not use the facilities they are of a standard of what you need while staying at your holiday home.

now when we decided to come to this site it was the surroundings and also the yearly rates that interested us, also we were told that you are not allowed to sub let your van out as this was against site rules, we also get a letter every year with the terms and conditions and it still states that no sub letting is allowed on this site. (although it does state family and friends)

reading through the comments this is clearly not the case and all I ask is that people who do go here on holiday please be a bit more thoughtful to peoples property, there is many of time I have come up to my van and noticed my gates are open and my flowers have been trodden on.

i find the staff really helpful and have no issues with them.

Your review is somewhat confusing........
Caravans are not allowed to be sub-let, however chalets are.
The caravans are located away from the chalets so that this ruling suits all.
Clarification of this is available if you we're to enquire in the office with any queries or questions.

just back from a week there, can't fault the challet and the surroundings, stunning! the site though was a different story. When you look at the site it says a shop selling all essentials. We went to the shop on our first morning and couldn't believe what we were seeing. Not one item of food stuff was in that shop, no milk or even a newspaper. Not a sweetie or a packet of crisps. has to be seen to be believed. the amusements for children has to be seen too. i think i counted 3 small sit on rides that you have to put money in for them to work so only suitable for very young children. the shop hours were from 8.30 to 11.30 am but when we past it it was often closed before that probably because no one could buy anything. the pizza place next door we never even seen open so don't count on that either.

Thank you for you interesting feedback.

We note that you stayed in June this year, which is our quiet part of the year and the facilities hours do fluctuate according to the time of season - as can be expected.
Your points relating to the merchandise within the shop are a little unfair, as the shop DOES stock food etc and the opening hours are clearly indicated on the door - for all to see.

We stayed here 5th - 8th July 2013 it was a surprise of my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary so I diddnt no where we were staying till we got here and i have to say I was not disappointed driving down to where we stayed in a chalet it was clean well kept couldn't wait to go to the outdoor pool area, we had a spot by the river and it was gorgeous sound of the river and it certainly was all I could hear was the river and it was so peaceful we arrived with our 3 yr old boy and a 10 yr old girl and it was just great from start to finish, the chalet was modern and it had bunk beds and a play station, a few DVDs that unfortunatly diddnt work because they were scratched but it really diddnt matter because it was so hot outside we were out most of the time, the kitchen was fantastic so well equipped it was like a home from home really couldn't wish for anything more from the chalet can't wait to go back!!!
non of us got bored as the location was fantastic
Thank you for a brilliant anniversary and I absolutely loved this place!! Also the shop on the site was very helpful to us as my husband wanted to go fishing and the man in their told us the best lakes near by
P.s where we stayed diane and alan who rented it out to us left us a lovely Bottle of wine and a anniversary card and a box of chocolates (that my 3
Yr old ate!!) and this was a lovely personal touch :-) xx

Stayed here twice and will be doing so again later this year. Beautiful, quiet and convenient setting, great facilities, great bar (although could do with extending).

Only downside is the shop - poor opening hours and unhelpful service. Asked the male assistant if he stocked the Guardian - 'no.' Could he get it in for me during our 10 day stay? 'No.' Does the garage up the road stock it? 'No, we get our papers from them and they don't get it in.' Went up the garage myself and there was a big pile of Guardians every day -so the garage got our sales and not the campsite.

Thank you for your feedback, of which is noted.
It may have been a good idea to mention this to the office at the time, so that this could have been addressed straight away, rather than after a 10 day period.

Having spent many an enjoyable family holiday in the Llyn peninsula with its gorgeous beaches we recently purchased a caravan on Glan Gwna Holiday Park so we can spend more time in the area. We are delighted with our purchase (helpful advice and great range) and love the park, its amenities and the total service we receive. We were initially attracted to Glan Gwna from the other reviews on this site and were very impressed when we visited. Great place for families with lovely grounds, swimming pool (although still closed last time we went) and outdoor space, lovely community and pleasant friendly bar. It was the best option for us out of the 4 parks we visited in the area. Also its a great central location close to Caernarfon Royal Town but also close to the beauty of Snowdonia so it offers great base for day trips.

I recently purchased a Caravan at Glan Gwna Holiday Park, I had looked at many Parks and settled for Glan Gwna. The staff were very helpful and unlike many of the Parks I visited there was no pressure at all, there was a variety of Caravans to choose from and I have a really nice plot, the Park is not overcrowded and has a really good bar which also serves food. The swimming pool is outdoor but heated and has pool attendant. Another factor that convinced me this Park was right for me was the river which winds it way through the Park. Its only a few minutes to the Snowdonia Nationa Park, and a mile and half from The Royal town Caernarvon, which has many attractions. The Park is owned and run as a family business which is another reason that convinced me this was right for me and my young family, so we will be spending our stress free weekends and holidays at our wonderful caravan, and if the sun isn't shining there is always a SUNY welcome in the Bar .
