Huge room but tiny bathroom in comparison and no furniture so our clothes were kept in piles on the floor. Staff are very friendly and can tell you everything you need to know about the local area and very good restaurant recommendations. Travelodge's advertising campaign tells you they've got new beds but it seems they've had to sell off the rest of the furniture to pay for them.

Stayed for one night in a family room, lovely receptionist (young lady maybe called Jackie.. .. she had a scouse accent), put us in a ground floor room as there was a stag do on the top floor, very nice of her, she was friendly and had good local knowledge. Room was massive, beds were great, bathroom was immaculate.... Basically just what you'd expect from a Travelodge, some whinging travellers will literally complain about ANYTHING to attempt to get a refund/freebie, it's sad. This place was good value, excellent spot by the harbour, couple of minutes walk to bars/restaurants etc.
Tip: if you're looking for something to eat or a good place to let your kids play while you relax, walk the 3 minutes to the black boy inn.
Caernarfon was great anyway:)

No matter where you stay Travelodge's tend to be of pretty much the same standard, this one however has several things going for it...

Parking

Brilliant - free parking within 2 minutes walk of the hotel and the instructions on the website are very clear and easy to follow.

Location

Excellent - the theatre is about 150m away, there are restaurants and coffee shops within a minutes walk of the front door and the castle and town centre are all less than 5 minutes walk down the road. Very handy for stocking up on picnic food as well as there is a morrisons right next to the car park. I would recommend walking by the harbour into town rather than down the main road - much prettier

Room

Not much to say about the room - clean, comfy, large very comfy bed, everything was clean and the hotel was very quiet We were only staying for one night so the lack of storage wasn't a problem, if you were staying for longer you may struggle to hang clothes up. The curtains were nice and thick so morning light wasn't a problem.

Service

Reception staff were very friendly, the only complaint I have is that we were promised extra towels (only one set provided) and they never arrived.

Would we stay again

Definitely - great value for money and a superb location

Room wasn't cleaned on the 2nd day but this was rectified immediatley and we were given a complimentary breakfast. Situated on the Dock you are 30 seconds away from amazing views and you are only 15 mins away from the castle. I would highly recommend this travelodge. I wouldn't recommend using the local bar/restaurant fro the all you can eat breakfast as it is ridiculously expensive (£18 for 2!!)

We stayed here for 6 nights as part of our first, budget trip, to Wales. Good sized room with comfortable bed and comfortable bathroom. The placing of this travelodge is perfect for a family sightseeing trip. The only downside was that the children's beds were quite firm. The premier inn and the travel lodge in this town are as good as each other except when you consider this cost us less than £200 for the 6 nights. We wouldn't do premier inns if all travel lodges were this good.

Spent three nights at Travelodge Caernarfon, early August, 2014. Have to say one of the nicest Travelodge's I have stayed in. Which ever member of staff was on duty, all were very friendly and could not do enough for you. Had a slight problem with no new towels after the cleaners had been in on the second morning, but no sooner had I asked for some, than Erica was offering me two free breakfasts for the following morning. Room was very comfortable, a good nights sleep achieved on a good mattress. Good shower in the bathroom. All in all, no difference now from any of the usually higher quality Premier Inn's that we have stayed in.

Great base for N Wales, parking no problem, as the free car park, is only a minute's walk from the building and parking did not seem to be a problem. Morrison's handy only a 100 metre walk, which was great for stocking up for picnics. The dock area is very nice, with the Coffee bar very good. Give the Anglesey Arms a visit on the sea front next to the Castle, which often has live music out front. You can relax with a pint, and the food is good. If we visit N Wales again, Travelodge will be getting our booking.
