“Nice food but over priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012 via mobile

I booked a table for 6 here hoping for a nice relaxing meal with family, but on arrival found that the table wasn't ready and was placed on a table for 4 that they then (eventually) added another 2 places to. The food was lovely but the waiting between courses was far too long, and at one point 4 of our party were given our food while 2 had to wait over 4 mins for their's to arrive. I won't be going back.

“Good food, poor service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

Whilst I have been to The Orangery (Now Belle Vita) many times before, and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service, this time I felt it was somewhat lacking.

Not only did our PREORDED food not arrive together, the waitress was rude. On top of this, our drinks were tallied incorrectly and instead of "the customer is always right" we were forced into paying for one which wasn't ordered! Moreover, service was slow (3 hours for 3 SMALL courses) and the restaurant wasn't anywhere near full- so what was their excuse?

“Pretty awful these days”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

I used to come here often as it's one of the few places in Aber, open in the evenings that isn't a pub. I've watched it over the years get more and more depressing. The service is dreadful. Nobody's rude, they just never take your order. Our last visit we finally found the staff and ordered cocktails. Many were off the menu as ingredients had run out, and when the mojitos finally arrived they were just not right. Tepid, grainy and very little flavour. I don't want to talk about the food. It was just horrible. We had to hunt for staff in order to pay. Not sure why we bothered as it isn't cheap.

“The worse example of management!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2012

As another reviewer stated, was due to attend a function at this venue the end of January 2012. The function had been arranged, menus discussed and agreed on, tickets sold (some to guests coming from America and Italy!!!!!) and all (or so we thought) good to go before a phone call from the management saying that they had decided to close for refurbishment and would be shut on the day of the function. Though an apology was given, no alternative venue was offered. I have never come across a worse example of management and communication from what should be a professional establishment. Will never step over the threshold of this venue again! Just shocked!
