“First class Carvery. First class service. Well worth the journey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

After reading previous reviews I decided to check The Royal Oak out for myself. Although the venue is a little dated, the Carvery certainly made up for it. Three meats and a choice of 14 vegetables all cooked to perfection. As I visited Mothering Sunday customer turnover was at it's peak. All staff were attentive but special thanks to Sara who made us especially welcome- her kindness throughout will never be forgotten. Looking forward to our 2nd visit. Well worth the 40 mile round journey!

“One of the best carveries anywhere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We were recommended to go to the Royal Oak for their " Ultimate Carvery" and the words are completely accurate. Immediately you get a very friendly welcome - in fact all the staff are highly trained in customer service and you can tell from the number of reserved tables, that the pub is extremely popular in the area. I can only describe the beef in my carvery as brilliant, and certainly some of the best I have tasted anywhere. You can only get beef of that quality by knowledgeable cooking ( including the choice of butcher ) and , in fact, the whole carvery was fresh, piping hot and very well presented. We have all experienced carveries where the meat is chewy, where the vegetables are very tired and almost baked to a ruinous mess. Here at the Royal Oak, there is a huge range of vegetables and all are perfectly cooked. There is also a very competitive 2 and 3 course menu and the service for this option was also first class. So congratulations to this pub. You are right up there at the top of the league for eating places near Worcester and I shall certainly be returning for more of the same.

“The ultimate carvery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

You get what it says on the tin! Beautifully cooked meat, thoughtfully prepared fresh veg and gravy to die for! If you go on a Sunday, book well ahead and go early to avoid queuing for 30 mins! Can't comment on the ale though as I've had to drive both times I've been!

“Cheap and cheerful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

First time at this restaurant, I had a lunchtime turkey and beef carvery meal whilst friends had meals from the menu. All in all the food was very good and the service friendly. If I had a criticism it would be that the decor is a little tired and dated, but then the food more than makes up for that . Would definitely go again when looking for a value for money meal.

“Outstanding experience..definitely going back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Totally enjoyed our visit from the minute we walked through the door to paying the bill! Staff were attentive, helpful & knowledgeable, the atmosphere was relaxed but with a friendly buzz about the place. (I suspect many customers were regulars) The menu was extensive although our party went to try the highly rated carvery. And we were not disappointed..food was delicious, well cooked & plenty of choice. The gravy was to die for! We all agreed it was the best carvery we'd ever had. The bill was very reasonable too..ours came to a little over £70 for a party of 5 including wine. Highly recommend a visit.
