Stayed here for two nights great location for visiting Worcester are surrounding area. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Located right opposite the cathedral. Parking is in car park next to hotel you are charged for this but get a discount if you have your ticket stamped at hotel reception.

Further to my review in March 2013 following my last stay at this hotel, I am delighted to report that many of the improvements I recommended have been implemented. Rooms have been refurbished - paper thin quilts and flat as as flounder pillows replaced with big, soft, fluffy ones, new beds, new flat screen TVs replacing the museum piece tiny portables, new curtain rails and curtains replacing the shabby old ones hanging off and attractive prints on the wall above the beds giving it a brighter, fresher more contemporary feel. Such a shame that the tired stained parchment effect bedside lampshades couldn't have been replaced with bright new matching ones in the same colour scheme as the curtains, prints and bed trims - a missed opportunity that would have been a nice and yet fairly inexpensive finishing touch to implement. Also a shame that there are still no power sockets near to the bed. Most guests use their mobile phones as alarms, so it would be good to be able to plug in a phone charger and have your phone within arms length rather than having to get out of bed to access it. My room not perfect - left hand of double socket under television unusable as melted and impossible to get a plug in it and kettle in a dreadful state - the plastic seems to be dissolving and has gone all powdery - maybe this is the effect of using bleach to clean it ? However, with its delightful view, a usable shower and toilet, a lovely comfy warm bed and fresh decor, this is a 100% improvement on my last experience. Well done Travel Lodge - at last you are taking steps to give the hard working,
friendly, helpful staff a hotel they can take pride in - keep it up and don't cut corners - finish the job in these rooms and they will represent very good value for money in an excellent central location.

Stain on bed covers. No shampoo in shower. Breakfast was cold and had run out of egg and bacon for the next customer. No cutlery. No coffee mugs. Very unorganised. No milk. Boy on next table had to ask for a spoon and milk. Bedroom has not been dusted in a long time example top of bed board and wardrobe. Gents toilets in breakfast room - lights went out before you could finish and sensor is situated outside the toilet. Need I say more

This is the most poorly kept hotel in which I have ever stayed. The rooms were dirty, they smelled bad, the beds were terrible, the linens were dirty and there was only one towel in the bathroom.

The electronic door keys didn't work and the front desk couldn't fix it. Service at the front desk was a figment of someone's imagination.

Room Tip: Find another place to stay.

Its basic, modern, no frills hotel, brilliantly situated next to all the ye olde bars and resturants. What you save in booking you can spend here. Skip breakfast and go to Poppins down the other side of the high street. One side of the hotel is very noisey overlooking the town.

This hotel is situated in the heart of worcester city centre, right next to the catherdral. We always use this Travelodge and the parking is in the multi carpark next to hotel. If you can book well in advance you can get some good deals, ie £19 a night. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate, although most we have stayed in, were in need of repairs. The beds are not very comfortable as you roll into the middle, however for a cheap overnight stay you will not beat the offer prices. THere are some fantastic restaurants in waling distance, including Galleria Italliana. The shops are literally on the door step and there lots of pubs and cafes too.

Room Tip: You can ask for a room with a view of the cathedral, rather then a poor view of service boilers etc.

I stayed here for two nights o a business trip with my partner and two colleagues. We were less than impressed. Overall the hotel was generally tired and the cleanliness in the public areas was not acceptable. At breakfast a colleague attempted to run a napkin along the top of a divider; the napkin stuck to the surface and ripped due to the stickiness of the surface. His room had a blocked sink and his tv was not working. After a pleasant evening out; we returned to our room and tried to put bedside lights on; we found that there were no bulbs in the fittings. This was reported and a member of staff came up to put bulbs in but had the wrong sort and so said he couldn't do anything except offer another room. We were not keen to change rooms at midnight so asked for it to be sorted the next day. Breakfast was similarly disappointing; the 'hot' food was lukewarm at best, the condiments were not stocked and no sugar to be found. The staff were generally pleasant. I stay in a lot of this type of 'budget' hotel and do not expect 5* luxury; but the basics must be there. We return to this area each year; we will never be staying here again.
