FEB 2013. First the good news. Beds: very warm and comfy. Shower: good and hot. Kitchen: all in good working order. Surrounding: interesting rural setting. However – bad bit coming up....
To our knowledge we had booked a twin room at Perriford Barns and Cottages, via Late Rooms, so were confused to find the very low-key road entrance and signage reading Park Hall. This is the right place, but rather misleading for guests.
We were further confused, when walked past a very shabby looking caravan to be shown the 2 miniscule single rooms that had been reserved for us within a cottage! Upon questioning this, the mix-up was quickly sorted and we were allowed the full run of the cottage (inc. double en suite), on the proviso that should a late booking arrive an internal door would be locked to split the place into two units. Thankfully the situation didn’t arise. However, heating in the cottage is problematic. In short, unless you like getting-up early to warm the place up, before getting-up proper then best check-out the heating problem has been rectified before settling in.
We booked Perriford Barns as a base from which to househunt – for which it worked well. And at £35 per night fitted the bill.
