Owner description: This beautiful 16th century building in the heart of historic Friar Street is run as a museum by volunteers. Displays focus on the house's past, as a home to Tudor weavers through to its use as an ARP Warden's office in WW2, and a school clinic thereafter. A cafe serves tea, coffee and wrapped cakes on vintage bone china. There is a Tudor Rat trail for children. Open Wednesday and Saturday 10-4, and Thursdays in the summer.

“No charge !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

There are not many places that you can visit that are free to enter, (we did give a donation for its upkeep) this place is well worth a visit, fascinating history tour not just of the area, but a lot more besides!
Need a couple of hours to do the visit justice.

“Interesting Tudor house”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

An interesting trip into the past. The building contains furniture of the period. If in Worcester a visit to this building is worth while.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

Great for adults and kids. We spent hours here and would definately go again when back in town. The volunteers were such a pleasure to talk to. Hope the people of Worcester will continue to support this treasure.

“Excellent hidden retreat in city centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

I'm fairly sure I'm telling you about the right place - this is just about the excellent cafe and staff. We came upon it by accident after a tiring time in city and looking for a snack - the sight of the garden through a small entrance was all we needed to enter and eat a lovely "light lunch" (tea/coffee/soft drink and cakes but delicious). The staff couldn't do enough for us and the garden was a hidden haven. Unfortunately, did not have enough parking time to go into house but will re-visit when next in area.
