We visited for a family party and I have trouble faulting the place. The hotel is a mish mash of small, character filled rooms, so no 'main room' all tastefully decorated.

The best part of this hotel, is the staff. They walk the tight rope between friendly and professional brilliantly, offering advice, smiling and just doing what so many hotel staff lack - they make you feel welcome, and that you being in their hotel is something of which they are proud.

One little piece of advice, there are a few different types of rooms - olde worlde with beams, very modern in the annexe and some in between. Just think which one suits and hope for the best. We were in the annexe, and rooms were very nicely done out

Thoroughly recommended (including the restaurant)

Stayed in Dormy House for 3 nights after the May bank holiday. After staying & eating in many top hotels i can say the food in this hotel was superb. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when we arrived the log fires were lit which gave a lovely warm welcome. The room we were in was outside the hotel just over looking the golf course. This was lovely furnished and clean but out of choice would prefer a room in the main house as it was a bit cold at night and windy so had to wear a coat but this is just my personnel preference. The conservatory was beautiful and over looked the garden. We visited Broadway a couple of miles away which was picturesque and this hotel is great to visit many places but is also very peaceful. One place we visited was the arboretum and falconry which is well worth a visit and only about 2 miles away. Truly a relaxing and lovely place to stay. Would def go back again.

We decided we needed a couple of days away and on reading the reviews on Trip Advisor decided this hotel sounded just what we needed. Booked a 2 day Summer Break which included a king size bed, breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant. We were given the option of upgrading to a four poster bed but decided not to and we were in a single level outside room but very close to the main building. I believe these rooms were converted outbuildings which had stone and beamed interiors which we quite superbly decorated. There was also a door in the room leading to a little pathed garden which had chairs where we sat enjoying a cuppa or just a bit of sunshine. Although the room appeared to feel quite small with such a huge bed, I can only describe it has having everything we needed for a comfortable, nice on the eye stay. Lovely decor, great shower, nice toiletries, full length mirror inside wardrobe door, electric socket situated by dressing table making it easy for hairdryer use ( which for me, a female, is important.) We found all of the staff to be friendly, very polite and ready to help if asked. The food we had in the main restaurant is what would make us go racing back for more. Can only describe each course at dinner has being a 'taste sensation' and we loved it !!!!!! If you like a more regular menu then it wouldn't be to your taste but we were given the option of eating more rustic food in the other restaurant but were so happy we hadn't.

My wife booked this as a surprise birthday treat and what a treat it was.

On arrival we were a bit concerned as there was a wedding planned for the evening we were staying but this did not in any way affect our stay, although I do believe the restaurant was closed which did not bother us as we prefer to dine in the bar area, which actually looks just as good as some restaurants.

The room itself was a suite, and it was truly wonderful.
As for the food, I can honestly say that it was the best food I have ever eaten.

Broadway itself is a lovely little quaint village that is well worth a stroll around, although it was a tad far to walk, unless of course you had the whole day to spare.

All in all it was a wonderful experience and one which I would happily recommend to anybody.

I spent three nights at the Dormy House hotel near Broadway in the Cotswolds with my boyfriend. The hotel is beautiful - picture-perfect. Our room (number 15), one of the superior rooms, was really spacious, light, airy and luxurious. We dined in the Bar two nights and in the Restaurant (slighty more expensive) one night - both served excellent food and the service was brilliant - attentive, but unstuffy and unobtrusive . All the staff are lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You need a car to get into Broadway and to visit the surrounding villages. I'd heartily recommend this fantastic hotel to those people who are looking for a quiet, cosy, pretty place to stay with delicious food and lovely staff.

Stayed one night whilst touring the Cotswolds. The hotel was easy to find and car parking plentiful .

We had a small ground floor suite in the hotel grounds [a short walk from the main building with an outdoor but not private seating area ], with plenty of opening windows and doors.

The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The spacious ensuite bathroom was well planned and supplied with plenty of towels, bathrobes etc....Toiletries were adequate.

The suite sitting room was nice and the entire suite including the bathroom had "touch" lighting to change the mood. There was a refrigerator with fresh milk and kettle for tea & coffee but no mini bar.

The bar and lounge areas were friendly warm and comfortable with a log fire . We never found the gym or sauna whilst wandering the grounds which are well manicured.

We took dinner in the main restaurant which we found very disappointing indeed. Whilst the service was friendly and efficient, the food was really quite horrible. Breakfast the following day though was good.

In summary it's a lovely friendly hotel [good 4star] in a peaceful location above Broadway
- and we would return - but we'd have to have some assurance about the quality of the food before eating in the main restaurant again - it really spoilt our stay - hence overall rating of just 3/5.

Travelled to the Dormy with 7 family members for a wedding. Beautiful hotel and top class members of staff. We had 4 rooms between us which were all located very close without us having to ask. Didnt really spend much time in the room as was there for a wedding. Its all very lovely but i was surprised at how small the room was. The bed was massive ( we had a double room ) but took up most the room. Bathroom was tiny, but again perfectly clean. We had a tiny tv but next door they had a double room too but with a massive slim tv fitted on the wall. Luck of the draw i guess!!
