“Excellent food and service, very friendly and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

My parents celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary here last week with family and friends and had a lovely meal. The food was excellent including the vegetarian meal my dad had. All the staff were very accommodating - I was impressed particularly with the restaurant manager who couldn't do enough to help. The restaurant setting is stunning with a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate here having been impressed by the Grey Goose cocktails and the beautiful setting. My food was delicious, but my partner's steak was extremely tough. The waiting staff were extremely well meaning, but a little awkward and slow to respond to an accidental spillage.

We booked to stay for two nights under the Summer Sparkle. We arrived on Sunday 4th Aug, parked the car and walked the length of Broadway to look at the little quaint shops and also took some photos of the beautiful upper high street whilst our room was prepared (we were just a little bit early) We went back to the hotel to check in and were shown to our room (Mr Mulligan - no 2) which was lovely. It was up a few flights of stairs and a little walk which was not a problem for us but if you struggle a little with stairs it may be worth mentioning this when you book.
We did have a great stay though, the bed was very comfy (I would love to know where the hotel purchase the beds from)
Our food was very nice - breakfast and dinner, we also ate lunch in the hotel - all very good. The service at the hotel was good and our only disappointment was we did not receive our Prosecco which was part of our Summer Sparkle deal!
This was our second stay at a Cotswolds hotel as we stayed in the Bay Tree in Burford which was brilliant. Therefore I do recommend the chain but a little upset that we did not receive our Prosecco :(

Room Tip: Our room - No 2 overlooked the glass roof of the restaurant/breakfast room which we did not find a p...

I booked this last minute for our anniversary celebrations and was not disappointed. The welcome and help at reception was one that other places could learn from. Our room was quite small but we had a queen size bed and amazing toiletries to use (though chargeable if you take them away). Also it was spotlessly clean and the bed linen was first class. The breakfast was nice - a small buffet but they took an order for hot food and had a good selection to choose from so we were both full.
It had good parking and was an excellent location to explore Broadway and the surrounding area.

We came here with a friend from the USA. We had been here before, and the food was fantastic and staff were really friendly and one quite short waitress I thought was very professional and fast!

Fantastic place to be, will come again!!

Stayed here with my husband on the Summer Sparkle deal(£75 each incl. prosecco, 3 course dinner and breakfast.) We received a warm welcome and were shown to our room(6) and offered help with our bags. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable, a little small, but adequate for a one night stay. The downside was that directly outside the windows was the glass pitched roof of the restaurant. No view at all, which was a shame. The restaurant roof windows were open so all sounds from the restaurant were sent straight up to our room. On our arrival, a new floor was being fitted in the restaurant so there was a lot of noise. It was a warm night and as there is no air-con, we had to have the windows open. There was an electric fan, luckily, which we made full use of. The other negative of this room is that the bathroom is so small, it could not accommodate the basin , which was in the bedroom! Not ideal. The whole hotel is very tastefully decorated in a contemporary but traditional style, with art work on an equestrian theme and very clean. Broadway itself is pretty with a few shops, bars and cafes. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace in the afternoon and in particular, the view across the green. The hotel is really nicely situated. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of prosecco in the bar before dinner(which we had to ask for as it was part of our deal, would have been nice to have been offered it.)The bar is overlooked by a minstrel's gallery and the bar staff were very polite and friendly. Our meal in the restaurant was fantastic, we enjoyed the scallop starter(fantastic) and the crab spring roll, followed by fillet steak. We felt that at £25 for fillet steak, the sauce should be included and not £2 extra! All restaurant staff were very pleasant , efficient and attentive but didn't pester as some restaurant staff do these days. On the whole an enjoyable stay with good food and service but you might want to be more specific about your room choice as they seem to vary a lot.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that have windows that have a view of the restaurant roof( at least 5&6)

We recently stayed one night at this lovely hotel to break our journey to Cornwall, it turned out to be a very good choice.
We parked in the hotels car park which we accessed from the front of the hotel. There is a barrier to prevent non residents parking.
Room number 19 is one of the dog friendly rooms and although it was very small ( not much floor space for our cases) it was ideal for us, with our own patio area overlooking the garden and the residents terrace. It has a beautiful sunny aspect and it would have been very tempting just to relax there but we wanted to explore the quaint town of Broadway!!
The room was very tastefully decorated, and the teddy bear on the comfortable memory foam bead was a lovely touch!!!! I was glad that I brought my own hair dryer as the one provided was the low voltage type that you usually find wall mounted in washrooms etc, and wouldn't have been much use for us ladies who want to style our hair!!!
The bathroom was very pleasant, clean and well appointed with a selection of Molton Brown toiletries for us to use. If I had been staying there longer I might have made use of the bath and the plastic duck waiting for us!!!!
That evening we ate in the County Bar with the dogs. This hotel is very dog friendly, one of the locals came in with his dog who immediately kept up onto a bar stool!!! The food we had was lovely, I was a bit disappointed not to see more healthy options ( for some strange reasons just felt like a salad that night!!) and I did feel a bit stuck for choice, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I did have, chicken breast in flatbread with home made onion rings and fries. The drinks were very reasonably priced also which makes a change for a hotel
We checked out the next day regretting that we were only staying one night, and we were served our breakfasting the sitting room ( as we had the dogs). It funny how you always have a cooked breakfast when you are away but you wouldn't usually bother at home, well this cooked breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE. Just about the best I have ever had!!! The waitress was lovely and friendly, as we're all the hotel staff . I still managed to squeeze in something from the cold buffet in the main restaurant ( well you have to don't you???)
The reception staff are all lovely and helpful. My main contact thoughout the booking and the stay was with Debbie. She is a credit to the hotel. It was the first time we have taken dogs to a hotel and we had decided that if it went well then we would do it again. We obviously chose a good hotel to start with.
Hotel staff that welcome your dogs and actually LIKE dogs make a massive difference to your stay. I appreciate that not everyone likes dogs and believe that there are plenty of hotels to cater for them.
I loved everything about Broadway, the shops, the scenery, the atmosphere, and last but not least, this lovely hotel. I am sure we will return again one day!!

Thank you for taking your time to review the Broadway hotel, I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the dog, we welcome dogs with open arms here at the hotel as we very much believe the hotel is a home form home and as we have our very own resident dog here we welcome others to come in may it be at the bar or sat out the front.
We hope to see you again very soon.
