“Quickly goes downhill once you walk in.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Mostly frozen food served, and lots of grease.
This place needs a serious coat of fresh paint, the tacky (and filthy carpets ripped out and the kitsch slot machine removed. The school child size wood benches need to be replaced with even a few quirky chairs and tables. Such a pretty village and pub exterior deserve much better. Seems to rely on transient clients only. What a shame!

“Summer delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Have visited this public house many times, the most recent being three weeks ago.
We sat outside in the garden which has fabulous views of the village and surrounding countryside.
The draught beer and food were excellent, the only downside was having your name called out HI DE HI style over a tannoy to go into the pub to collect your meals.
Have also been for a meal in the depths of winter where there will be a roaring fire.
Well worth a visit.

“Lovely, old country pub.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

Staying at a b&b close by, we chose The Snowshill Arms for our first evening meal. We had previously been told that there was no need to book a table, and found the restaurant area almost empty. There was a warm welcome and we found the menu offered plenty of meals on offer. The food was well presented, hot and tasty, and served in a friendly manner. If you want an unpretentious, traditional and cosy country pub offering good food, this is the place to come.

“Great garden and village, if only the pub were more welcoming!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012 via mobile

I've visited the Snowshill Arms many times. It's convenient, food is ok and well priced, it has a great garden and the village is beautiful. It just seems such a shame that there isn't more of a customer focus: the welcome is perfunctory, there's only one local beer on tap, and I've sometimes felt 'in the way'. Perhaps the owners want to keep it local and don't really want the passing. Given it's space and location it feels like a missed opportunity!
